Here is a bibliography of sorts. A few of the stories and thoughts that influenced me and my practice during the creation of my project “Et in Arcadia ego”. Each one informed my perception of the river and my attempts to document it. As someone who spends most of their time thinking in images, I often struggle with words. Will there be a Season 2 of The Gryphon – renewed or canceled status The series stars J eremias Meyer, Zoran Pingel, and Lea Drinda as the trio and is written and created by Sebastian Marka and Erol Yesilkaya. Der Greif is an award-winning contemporary photography organization. Through crowdsourcing, Der Greif brings together diverse voices and provides a platform and visibility for a range of practitioners and their works. Since 2008, Der Greif has engaged with topics like changing authorship perceptions, image de- and re-contextualization, appropriation, and artistic approaches to photographic archives and remix culture.

We ask you to consider a financial donation of 12 € to support the anniversary events of Der Greif. All funds collected will directly support producing the displays of selected work from the open call. Get the chance to publish an Artist Feature on dergreif.org, a highly-frequented international source of photographic art.Engaging with the mechanics of materialistic desire, aesthetics and the construction of value, Sylvie Fleury's sleek, alluring works provide a lens through which contemporary politics of gender, beauty and consumerism can be re-evaluated. Fleury's diverse practice encompasses a variety of media and references, including luxury clothing, accessories and cosmetics, magazine covers, the world of Formula 1 racing, spaceships and icons of modern art. As a way to commemorate what we have accomplished together with our community, images from this open call will be chosen and displayed alongside selected imagery from Der Greif’s extensive archive. Many photographers and visual artists featured in the organization’s past have gone on to successful careers. This open call places their accomplished work in conversation with emerging image makers of today. Thinking about the physicality of an image one must think about how an ad is presented as it is put out into the world. When faced with this, the most prominent example is the white cube gallery, and how an image is presented in such a space - a large image, consumed by the white vacuum. When looking at it, it feels devoid of meaning and keeps the audience looking for the description of the ... We periodically invite our alumni, artists we have featured in the past, to share their new work and projects with us. Henriette Sabroe Ebbesen’s work was initially showcased in our Issue 12, titled "Blame the Algorithm — Broomberg & Chanarin". In relation to our 15th anniversary, we are awarding a Guest Room Scholarship: an artist stipend of 1.000 € to one of the selected submitters of each upcoming Guest Room. We believe this organizational structure best reflects our artistic and cultural mission. As always, your artistic contribution makes our work on Der Greif possible.
