About this deal

Some properties may have a third-party energy diverter installed and you may want the zappi to take priority (when consuming surplus power) over the diverter. This is possible by installing an extra CT to monitor the diverter. The CT should be clipped around the Live cable of the supply feeding the diverter. The arrow on the CT should be pointing away from the diverter (towards the consumer unit). Wire the CT to the nearest myenergi device or use a harvi unit if a wireless connection is needed. CTs can be also used to limit the current drawn by myenergi devices to avoid overloading circuits; this is referred to as load balancing or load curtailment. There are four different ways to limit current and they can be used alone or combined for more complex situations. See the table below: Function The Hypervolt app gives full control of charging modes and the ability to view energy consumption. This is available from Apple and Google app stores by searching ‘Hypervolt’ If the installation has a three-phase supply, you can use the 3 CT connectors either directly connected to the zappi (hard wired) or a harvi device (wireless – optional). We recommend you use one CT per phase; this will allow the zappi to show the total grid import and export figures rather than just one of the phases. The Hypervolt has 6mA DC protection built-in therefore an expensive external B-type RCD is not required making installation straightforward.

The CTs can be clipped on either the Live or Neutral cable on single-phase systems. ( Note: you can only use the Live tails on the 3-phase system) Step 1: Carefully remove fascia from the zappi by pressing the 2 clips located at the bottom of the unit inwards whilst pulling the fascia towards you. A property has a large PV, a swimming pool and two zappis. The supply to the zappis is only rated at 40A so to be safe a Group Limit of 40A is set. Clamps simply clip around cables with no interruption to electrical supply. The wireless transmitter attaches outside the panel for reliable wireless data transmission

The current can be measured at appliance level if there is a suitable place for the installation of the CT.

Measurements of all three channels are taken separately, these separate readings are transmitted in one EnOcean Telegram every 30 seconds. One complication is that the inverter/panels are at the bottom of the garden so a direct CT clamp cable from the grid feed isn't possible. There is a 5-metre tethered lead as standard which can be upgraded to 7.5 or 10 metres if required.Priced considerably less than other premium chargers the Hypervolt is a great alternative to the Myenergi Zappi. With its ease of use and many features, the Hypervolt should definitely be near the top of your list of potential chargers to have.

A bit of research suggests that I should be able to connect the CT clamp to an RS485/MODBUS wireless transmitter/receiver to solve this. I'd appreciate any experiences in this regard and any product recommendations. I do see anything for sale that is a purpose built solution for this. Any links to products and/or homegrown solutions would be appreciated. Pressac’s wireless current sensors (CT) measure the alternating current (AC) and report the average of 5 measurements every 30 seconds. zappi includes an additional automatic disconnection device which satisfies the requirements of BS7671:2018-amd1:2020 722.411.4.1 (v) (the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations). No recurring fees. Access the data through your chosen platform, without any additional costs from Presssac. Hi, I have a solis 3.6k inverter and fox ess lithium battery (big). However these is all in a workshop alongside the outbuilding fuse board. Configure the CT Type as Storage Only – see CT Config for details of how to configure CTs. Voltage Optimisers

Manufactured in the UK to high-quality and high-safety specifications, they are subject to rigorous testing procedures.A property may have a grid supply limit of 65A. Several appliances are on, so the property is consuming 12kW (52A). The user wants to charge in FAST mode. Without the Grid Limit set, the total consumption would exceed the allowed import current and trip the supply or blow a fuse. However, with a Grid Limit setting of 60A, zappi would temporarily limit the charging current to 8A (about 1.8kW) and the maximum allowed import current would not be exceeded. Is the transmitted measurement a total for all three channels, or are the values transmitted independently? The 3rd mode is ‘super eco’, in this mode, the Hypervolt will only charge via solar energy. For this to work 1.4kW of surplus energy is required to begin charging, if this is not reached the Hypervolt will not charge the EV. Measurements are taken every five seconds and these values are collated to produce an average once every 30 seconds. This average figure is the transmitted value. The Hypervolt app has a really simple interface, especially when setting charging schedules. Multiple sessions can be timed to coincide with your cheap rate electricity tariff such as Octopus’s Go EV charging tariff. Alternatively, a ‘plug and charge’ mode can be set.
