About this deal

Although I look forward to when vacuum cleaners will be able to move silently in the bedroom while we’re sleeping, we’re still not there and the DC motor remains fairly noisy. And the Ultenic D5S Pro has three speed levels, the slower one being the most efficient in terms of power, while the higher level will do better on a carpet. So, I took a sound meter and measured how loud the Ultenic D5S Pro gets at the lowest level (while I was about 5 feet away). It was about about 50dB, so it was audible, but not annoying during the day (not great during the night). The main drive wheels are located to either side of the roller brush. They’re grey in color, with a rubbery texture. They protrude enough to getup an 0.6-inch transition without any trouble. This isn’t quite as big as a full-sized, ¾-inch transitions. But under most ordinary circumstances, your vacuum will be free to navigate your home. There’s a third, smaller wheel at the front, mounted in a circular housing. This wheel is un-powered, but pivots to steer the vacuum.

Easy-to-use app with all the settings we’d expect, but we’d like to see improvements in multiple map storage and access. One thing that somewhat disappointed us was the 400ml dust bin. This isn’t tiny, but it’s smaller by 20 percent than the average 500ml robot vacuum dust bin. The result is that you’ll have to empty the vacuum more often than many others. If that’s a deal-breaker for you, there are plenty of other options. One good example is the Bagotte BG750. It has similar features to the D5s, but with a large, 600ml dust bin. On the flip side, it’s a touch more expensive.

I was excited to see more affordable vacuum cleaners enter the market, but then things got a bit weird since there is essentially an avalanche of this type of devices, mostly from under the Xiaomi umbrella. Don’t get me wrong, I am more than happy to see that these nifty devices are now affordable enough to be owned by most people, but this meant that there aren’t many differences between the available models. And yes, despite seemingly coming from different brands, I did see robot vacuum cleaners that were almost identical. This takes us to the Ultenic D5S Pro which sports a glass top panel and a circular section in the middle that’s there only for aesthetic purposes. Under the hood, there are plenty of intelligent features, such as 360-degree laser scanning and mapping, radar navigation, and automatic suction boost on carpet. There’s HEPA filtration, plus the use of bags avoids the inevitable cloud of dust when emptying dirt into the trash, making it a great choice for allergy sufferers. The app is intrusive since it adamantly requests your location and it needs to have Internet access to be able to see the vacuum cleaner

We’re about to review the Ultenic D5s Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner and Mop. Not only does it work without needing to take your rugs outside, but it cleans your floor automatically. But that’s just the basic function you expect from any robot vacuum. To find out whether the D5s in particular is worth owning, we had to look closer at all of its unique features. Now, we’ll take a deep dive into its physical design, as well as the suction power. We’ll go over the mopping function, and how the navigation works. Once we’ve touched on all the various factors, we’ll be in a position to render a fair verdict. Let’s see how this robot vacuum compares to the competition! In terms of other maintenance, the self-emptying feature means the vacuum doesn’t require too much attention. But the brushes, sensors and filter will all need occasional cleaning to keep it running at the optimum performance level. Happily, the app keeps tabs on the life of the various replaceable parts and will alert when they need replacing. When many people think about technology, they think about the flashy things. Every time a new iPhone comes out with an even sharper camera, thousands of blog posts are made. But technology isn’t just about entertainment. First and foremost, it’s about quality of life. To be fair, entertainment is a big part of that. Life is a little bit more enjoyable thanks to things like Netflix and video games. But quality of life can come in many forms. For example, medical advances that cure debilitating illnesses, or using escalators instead of stairs. On carpet, the T10 was effective at cleaning up surface dust and debris, leaving the carpet looking clean. We did notice hair becoming tangled around the roller brush, though, but a tool is supplied to make it easy to cut this away.

The vacuum isn’t too noisy, registering 70dB on hard floor when on max suction, which reduces to 60dB on the lowest suction level. Automatic emptying takes 15 seconds and is the loudest function of this robot vacuum at 80dB. And although this is as loud as some blenders, it’s only for a brief moment. In mopping mode, when the vacuum suction is switched off, the T10 uses very little battery life. During testing, it mopped for 90 minutes and used only 10% of the battery. Equipped with extra 2-in-1 dustbin with water tank, D5s Pro robotic vacuum cleaner supports to vacuum and mop simultaneously. Simply set your desired water flow and the electronically controlled water tank can handle the rest. There are three different suction levels. Mopping has three levels as well, but mopping is best for casual cleaning, not scrubbing off tough stains. On a brighter note, whether vacuuming or mopping, the D5s Pro is generally quiet.
