About this deal

I was given this watch almost a year ago. The previous owner had worn the watch as a daily driver for a couple years and it was showing through many swirls and scuffs and scratches on the stainless steel. I still loved the piece and wore it in good health but I wanted it to be more of a dress watch in my collection and I felt that the scratches weren't very dressy... Repeat process until you are satisfied or it appears the blemish no longer shows signs of improvement. But from what we have observed using this method, the result is quite good. But of course, it is completely up to you what you decide in the end. When using the scotch Brite pad, make sure you pull it against the bracelet in a straight motion. Since the pad does give it a brushed finish, it can leave uneven lines if you don’t do it perfectly.

We hear this a lot when people talk about Cape Cod Polishing products. It really is one of those products that you have to see, to believe it can be so good. These are moist cloths that will polish all types of metals including steel, brass, gold, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, and more. The best part is that they are reusable. They have a pleasant smell of vanilla and will leave an anti-tarnish finish to the polished parts of your watch. Is this normal or did I not polish the surface long enough? How long do you normally polish an area for? I did it by moving the coth up and down in both direction, is this the right way?

The cloths clean, polish, protect, and shines jewelry and watches. Connoisseur watch polishing cloths Before we begin, you want to polish only the shiny section of your Rolex Jubilee or Oyster bracelet, and this is usually the middle of the bracelet. Do note that on the steel bracelets are usually in satin/matte finish therefore, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POLISH IT using these steps. You can also polish the bezel if it’s shiny. Step 1: Electrical Tape I have an old 3M lens cloth which is awesome with a small waffle weave battern and when slid over my hand feels rough as it grips the skin. The best way to polish the sides of your Rolex Submariner case is to use Cape Cod polishing cloths. These cloths are impregnated with a very gentle polishing cream that helps polish the case. The cloths clean, polish and protects the polished surface of your watch, but most importantly work to remove hairlines and scratches. And here is the after. This took approximately 10 minutes polishing and cleaning. You can see it has removed most of the scratched surface as well as the brushed finish, which I will correct shortly with a light brushing from a stainless steel scratch pad.

For example, a "microfiber" cloth can be waterproof which makes it useless as a towel. The same fibers, can be weaved, however, into a waffle weave pattern which makes it soak up water like crazy. Spray it on and leave it to soak in for a couple of minutes then clean it with the horse hair brush to get into all the spaces and finish it off a buffing cloth. Gripping the Apple with my thumb and index finger, I'll press the side of the watch I want to polish against the polishing cloth with a medium pressure and begin making slow vertical passes up and down the cloth. You'll see a dark line form on the cloth... that's your watch! The polishing cloths contain a very fine abrasive that gently removes microscopic layers with each pass.To polish the bracelet (actually, you brush it since it has a brushed finish), you can use a scotch Brite green pad. The Scotch Brite pad will leave a brushed finish on your bracelet when used, but it will do so very gently since it is far less grainy and aggressive than, say sandpaper. These delightful, vanilla-scented Cape Cod Polishing Clothscan be used over and overto replenish and re-new. Cape Cod Polishing Clothshave been specifically designed - with twenty-five years experience - to clean, polish and protect. These Cape Cod Clothscontain a versatile polish which is perfect for any metal from gold to stainless steel. For collectors, the answer is often to not polish a watch. But for people, in particular, who are not obsessed watch nerds, the greatest importance is that the watch is in nice condition, in the sense that it is absent from dings and scratches. And as a matter of fact, there are also watch enthusiasts who dislike scratches and dents on their watches, and will naturally polish them occasionally as well.
