Uncle Remus is it true caring loving man I can't see anything racist about this movie whatsoever maybe I'm just stupid yeah I do see that the the black people in this movie were portrayed as slaves. Regarding its place in American History, SONG OF THE SOUTH is well known for its infamous contribution to the attempt to downplay, sugarcoat, and even deny the atrocities of slavery.
