About this deal

Clynelish 14, İskoçya’nın Highland bölgesinde bulunan Clynelish damıtımevinin (Okunuşu: Kılayn-liş) standart ekspresyonu. Clynelish 14 Years Old - this classic Highland distillery a perennial favourite of the blender, due to its well-rounded maltiness and balance." This one needs a little time and a healthy splash of water to reveal all it has to offer. Too harsh and bitter on the palate when sipped neat or with just a few drops of Adam's ale. Genel Yorum : Clynelish 14 için aklımda kalan ilk şey burundaki taze ve çiçeksi kokulardan sonra içtiğimde damağımı adeta kavurması…“Viski içiyorum” hissi uyandıran bir ilginç ve güçlü viski! Clynelish 14’ün aynı zamanda ilk denediğim Single maltlardan biri olduğunu da belirtmek isterim. Bu yazı ilginizi çektiyse; Clynelish 26 yo 1996/2023 (52%, OB, Prima & Ultima, Pedro Ximenez and oloroso, 889 bottles) - 121023

Finish: BIG perfume flavours continue to dominate the taste. Aside from the floral notes we have some gentle smoke, butter, apples, pears, cinnamon, brine, oak, and white pepper. Medium finish with some solid coastal notes worked in. Clynelish 35 yo 1983/2018 (52.2%, OB, Casks of Distinction, for Aaron Chan, hogshead, cask #2566, 144 bottles) - 140219Clynelish 36 yo 1971/2007 (51.5%, Murray McDavid, Mission Cask Strength, bourbon cask, 265 bottles) - 301222 With water there's a bit more oakiness on the nose and the waxiness is more prominent on the palate. The finish is more vanilla-forward with a touch of citrus fruit at the tail end. This is really nice either way. In these days of insane inflation and rising prices our cynicism is fuelled daily by news of something else creeping out of our reach. Recently Diageo, the owner of this particular release, has been one of the most clumsy. Wild rumours of horrific increases on their Talisker and Lagavulin official releases were widely spread over winter and while, at the point of writing, this remains to be realised on the shelf, it has been confirmed through retailers that it’s coming. This level of price hike, in any context, is putridly cynical and unjustifiable. Clynelish 14 yo 2005/2019 (51.8%, Gordon & MacPhail, Connoisseurs Choice for The Whisky Exchange, cask #19/090, refill sherry hogshead, 224 bottles) - 241219 - by Angus - 091119

Shoutout to K&L Wine Merchants again for having a great price on this collection that features 200ml expressions of Talisker 10, Clynelish 14, and Caol Ila 12. Absolutely worth the price if you have a chance to grab one of these sets! Clynelish 28 yo 1989/2018 (49.3%, Gordon & MacPhail, Connoisseurs Choice, refill American hogshead, cask #8204, 221 bottles) - 190918 And I did get my hands on some 14 year old Clynelish. Which actually is the only expression they have to offer. So Clynelish 14yo equals their core range. You can get Clynelish malts of different ages from various independent bottlers but the 14 year old single malt released in 2002 is at the moment, the only official core range bottling from the new Clynelish distillery. This is simply one of the best widely available core range whiskies. A timeless profile, good depth and complexity, and some unique touches. A benchmark everyday dram: in times when it’s easy to spend € 150 on a mediocre whisky, it’s great to come accross such value for money. Clynelish 31 yo 1972/2004 ‘Fresh figs and Brazil nuts’ (58.7%, Scotch Malt Whisky Society, #26.34) - by Angus - 161217

Tastes a bit challenging in a good way. Oak. Dried tart fruits. Gloucester cheese. Vanilla. Leather.

However, if you’ve found a particular article valuable, you also have the option to make a direct donation to the writer, here: buy me a dram - you’d make their day. Thank you. Clynelish 12 yo 2005/2018 (55.1%, Gordon & MacPhail, Connoisseurs Choice, refill sherry butt, cask #308764, 518 bottles) - 100818

Clynelish 23 yo 1995/2018 (54.5%, Signatory Vintage, refill sherry butt, cask #8674, 266 bottles) - 140219 Nose: Very subtle smoke and sweet citrus fruit, particularly those giant incredible lemons from Sorrento. Honey and a little wax keeping the profile rather calm and not too sweet. The smoke helps here, too. With more air, the smoke subsides a bit and the fruit darkens, too. Orange and lemon are present, and now some dates appear. Cardamom and baked goods on the end of it. The nose is intriguing. Salty, honeyed, floral, vanilla, green apples and sugared candies (pear drops, pineapple cubes).
