Having had this hammer drill prior to getting cordless version I was so very pleased with its capabilities and pleased to say I would highly recommend to anyone. what a mistake 1st use failed on drilling a hole for a flue so took it back and replaced for the same again.

The drill, hammer drill, and chisel functions mean that it can be used for a variety of jobs, from light demolition to drilling brickwork. I’ve abused them to bits by having them on constant hammer mode and using the armeg tri-cutter head but they stilll are going strong. This Drill is the daddy for your everyday 240v jobs it dose anything from drilling to chasing walls as the saying goes this on takes a hammering and keeps on going.

Had 2 of these so far and have no complaints the grip is expecially handy and can be moved to a position to suit the job and the cable is a at a good length for those out of the way jobs.

I do give them quite a hammering though and they eventually seem to bust when using a socket box sinking tool. The Makita HR2470 SDS Plus hammer drill is versatile and reliable, able to repeatedly tackle tough tasks with ease. Had one of these for years now, very good value for money, powerful as a breaker as well as a drill, even use this drill with a 100mm diamond core but in it as well, which is a bit extreme but it copes well. Featuring a powerful 780W motor and all-metal gearing for reliability, and a mechanical safety clutch to eliminate any sudden high-torque reaction should the bit jam.We also track your visits using Google and Facebook, along with serving personalised ads via AdRoll. Not a bad drill having the chisel action is great and is helped by the drill being quite light compared to other drills i have used. Smashing drill from makita not the most powerful one ive ever used but does what it says it can do and does it well. Same here, I loved this drill more than my wife, until the apprentice decided to use it to core a flue hole. The SDS chuck is great, depth stop, additional handle and plus carry case are of great quality so a good addition.
