Bendis puts parker in somewhat more believable settings and circumstances for a 15 year old high school kid. The girls in his life are minor roles, but then again so are the boys, and at least the girls fight their own good fights. And just for the record: Mark Bagley did an amazing (ultimate) job drawing Spiderman and all others characters. Looking at my collection, I have more books on Venom, Carnage, Spider-Man (Octavius), heck, I even have 1 Spider-Man (Ben Reilly)(though unfortunately, I have yet to encounter a good collection of Spider-Man 2099).You see him dealing with high school romance, living with Gwen Stacy (who's a punk girl, with daddy issues), getting a job to support Aunt May, or even just simply having problems escaping school to go save the day. Bagley´s artwork is for me one of the ebst and I can´t wait for his Amazing Spider-man Omnibus that was announced to be released! Though it's a little frustrating to see him back without any repercussions, that's part of the plotline. Highlights: Peter meeting Fury, the Kingpin, the battle with the Green Goblin seen from the goblin's perspective (trippy! This series was a career defining moment for Bagley cause it showed him drawing a familiar character but his approach and style to it was fresh and new.
