a lot of cringe statements that threw me off. i know this is supposed to be a beauty and the beast inspiration but don’t have to constantly bring it up with the direct quotes from the disney movie. i’m surprised it hasn’t been slapped with some kind of infringement from the mouse. Elizabeth Helen did a wonderful job of blending the old with the new. There were a lot of recognizable elements such as, the iconic rose, the magical mirror, an enchanted castle, and the curse were all things I'd come to expect from Beauty and the Beast and the characters were spot on, Marigold was a hoot. However there were plenty of new elements or known elements with a twist, things like Beauty working in a bookstore, a missing mom, the Beasts are fae, there's the threat of the briar, shifters, seasonal courts, fated mates, and more. It's all familiar but new. I loved the lush descriptions, the writers really brought the world to life. Of course, the steam was good, I mean it should be with four fae princes but it was a slow burn. I could've used a little more heat between Rosa and the guys.
