About this deal

As well as being our home, the treehouse is where we make books together. I write the words, and Terry draws the pictures. A word-o-matic that knows every word in the whole world has been added. It also spits out incomprehensible words which cause queries and confusion. You can test your students on each chapter to gauge their reading comprehension. During discussions, encourage questions about the topic as they go through the story. You can start a discussion about the fantasy aspect of the books by asking if these situations can really happen.

The 13-Storey Treehouse won the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year for Older Children 2012 [4] [5] and the 2012 COOL Award for Fiction for Older Readers. [6] Plot [ edit ] Coffee house Caffè Nero has announced the 16-strong shortlist for the inaugural Nero Book Awards, recognising the outstanding books of the past 12...At the beginning of the book, there is a detailed illustration of the different areas of the treehouse. Andy writes the words for their book, and Terry does the illustrations. Andy and Terry live in a 156-story treehouse. (It used to be a 143-story treehouse, but they added 13 more levels.) It has a wishing well, a super-stinky stuff level, a bouldering alley (it’s just like bowling, except you use boulders instead of balls), an enigma engine, a TV quiz show level hosted by Quizzy the quizzical robot, and the amazing mind-reading sandwich-making machine that knows exactly what sort of sandwich you want and makes it for you. The expanded treehouse just keeps cranking out the fun with a chainsaw juggling area, a carrot launcher, a remembering booth, and so much more. There is even a detective agency equipped with a disguise. There are four steps involved to get a class discussion going about the series. They should come to the discussion prepared with all necessary materials, then you need to establish rules to drive the discussion. Everyone needs to respond to questions, and then you can draw conclusions from the book.

To celebrate ten years of the Treehouse series, a special colour edition of The 13-Storey Treehouse is being released simultaneously with this, the 11th title. The book begins with the narrator and fictional depiction of the author, Andy Griffiths, giving an introduction to himself, his friend and illustrator Terry Denton, and their treehouse.

How will they clean up the word spill caused by Terry’s sneaky high score letters attempting to make questionable words during their scrabble game? Excuse me, readers. As you can see, I’m in the middle of playing a game of Scrabble with Terry. Now let me see … Hang on, what’s that word? Andy and Terry live in a 143-story treehouse. Or, at least they WILL live in a 143-story treehouse once they finish building all 13 new levels! There are lots of laughs at every level in The 143-Storey Treehouse, from the number one Treehouse series from Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton.
