About this deal

McWhinney, L. A.; Rothschild, B. M.; Carpenter, K. (2001). "Posttraumatic Chronic Osteomyelitis in Stegosaurus dermal spikes". In Carpenter, Kenneth (ed.). The Armored Dinosaurs. Indiana University Press. pp.141–56. ISBN 978-0-253-33964-5. Ankylosaurus was a member of a group of dinosaurs called Ankylosauria. Their name means ‘fused together lizards’ on behalf of their joined-together armoured plates. Giganotosaurus was around 16 metres (62 ft.)in length and weighed 8 metric tonnes (9 short tons). It was likely to have had good senses of both sight and smell. At the time of writing, only two Compsognathus specimens have been discovered. The first was found in Germany in the mid-nineteenth century. The second was found in France over 100 years later, in 1971. He defeated the most dinosaurs among the Alpha Gang's in Mesozoic Meltdown with three (counting the 5 Ophthalmosaurus as only one), followed by Terry with two and Tank with one, and was the only one to defeat an Assist Move Dinosaur in that season (though Terry defeated the Pteranodon in season 1).

Diplodocus was around 25 metres (82 ft.)in length. It weighed between 10 and 26 metric tonnes (11 and 29 short tons). It lived in North America during the late Jurassic Period. In 1977 the Chungkingosaurus was discovered and dug up in China around the Upper Shaximiao Formation. This species lived during the late Jurrasic period. As one of many members of the Stegosauridae family, the Chungkingosaurus was a herbivore and walked on all fours. They lived in forest-type habitats. This species lived in groups with other similar dinosaurs. Parasaurolophus was a Late Cretaceous herbivore. It was around 10 metres (33 ft.)in length and weighed around 3.5 metric tonnes (4 short tons). Giganotosaurus means ‘giant southern lizard’. This giant predator walked on two legs and was even bigger than Tyrannosaurus.

Spiny is the only Water Dinosaur in season 1 whose card was not activated by a natural body of water such as a lake or river, instead being a spilled drink. However, there is still much debate on this topic, and further research is needed to reach a definitive conclusion.

Carnotaurus was a large, fast-moving predator that walked on two legs. It was around 9 metres (30 ft.) in length, and weighed around 1.35 metric tonnes (1.5 short tons).Tyrannosaurus is one of the largest land-based meat-eaters of all time. Not only was it strong; it was also intelligent, fast, and equipped with excellent senses of both sight and smell. Maidment named the dinosaurSpicomellus, which means "collar of spikes" and "of Africa."The name ankylosaurs means “stiff lizard” and the specieswere large, herbivorous relatives of the stegosaurs. Sail formation – Another explanation, though less widely accepted, is that neural spines might have provided a surface for the attachments of ligaments or muscles to form skin sails. Like those seen in crested chameleon, a neural spine sail could serve functions like thermoregulation, sexual selection, camouflage, and even food storage. A revision of the late campanian centrosaurine ceratopsid genus Styracosaurus from the Western Interior of North America

The contributions of Amargasaurus extend beyond a mere fascinating prehistoric entity. It forms a vital chapter in natural history, depicting the compelling journey of evolution and survival. With its noteworthy features, the Amargasaurus epitomizes the sheer diversity and adaptability which underpins the exciting narrative of evolution. Tlatolophus probably stretched about 26 feet from snout to tail and stood about 6.5 feet tall at the hip. Based on its well-preserved skull, scientists think that the animal was a close cousin of the iconic crested lambeosaur Parasaurolophus, which are seen drinking from a lake near the beginning of the movie Jurassic Park. Velociraptor was a small, bird-like, predatory dinosaur of the late Cretaceous Period. Its name–which means ‘swift plunderer’–accurately describes this speedy, fierce carnivore.Scientists think that this bony sail helped spinosaurus to warm up faster than other dinosaurs, allowing it to hunt when others could not. Together Macharioceratops and Spiclypeus give a big boost to the count of known horned dinosaurs and give diehard dino-fans a pair of new names to master. There are now so many of these pointy plant-eaters, Mallon says, that “It’s getting hard to keep up!” But given that the dinosaurs have been waiting in the ground for over 66 million years, why are we experiencing such a great Dinosaur Rush now? There’s a twist in the tail: recent studies have found that the Brontosaurus may not be an Apatosaurus after all!
