About this deal

It has a larger baseplate, making it great for cutting longer and wider pieces of lumber. It also makes cutting larger workpieces easier thanks to its adjustable base extension and taller sliding fence. The Metabo HPT C12RSH2S is a versatile sliding compound miter saw suitable for various cutting applications. Its 12-inch blade and compact sliding system make it ideal for tight spaces. The saw provides precise miter and bevel cuts, and the adjustable laser marker enhances cutting accuracy. With an ergonomic design and dependable performance, the C12RSH2S is a great choice for professionals and DIY enthusiasts. For light to medium-duty cutting tasks, the Craftsman V20 sliding miter saw kit is a compact and portable option. With its 7-1/4-inch blade, it offers versatility and maneuverability. The saw features positive miter stops and a laser guide system for accurate cuts. Lightweight and easy to transport, it is convenient for jobs that require mobility. The V20 kit delivers decent performance at an affordable price point. Consider the dimensions of the materials that you are working on when choosing the right sliding miter saw for your workshop. Sliding miter saws with 10″ and 12″ can make longer cuts compared to their more compact siblings.

Bosch designed this sliding miter saw with the ease of the user in mind. The switch is large and ambidextrous — unlike the majority of saws that are created only for right-handed users. Keep in mind, while Ryobi might technically be more of a “consumer-grade” power tool manufacturer, it sits at the top of the consumer-grade with many models entering the mid-tier. That said, Ryobi is well-aware of their own quality and prices their products accordingly, though they are generally still less expensive than professional-grade brands. Buying a miter saw: features to consider As part of the Ryobi 18V ONE+™ system of over 200 cordless tools for the home, garden, automotive, crafting and much more, the Ryobi 18V ONE+™ R18MS216-0 Sliding Mitre Saw is perfect for making straight or angled cuts in wood trim, door facings, skirting boards and so much more. Compound – While there exists a simpler form of a miter saw, our list limits its entries to those that provide both a miter and a bevel cut. The compound miter saw is the most basic type on our list and comes with a single bevel, though this is more than sufficient for experienced users. While this is not always the most important aspect when choosing a power saw, miter saws tend to require a bit more power than others due to the number and type of cuts they make. For one, miter saws almost exclusively make cross cuts which require more cutting power than other types of cuts.

Some miter saws are now equipped with built-in laser guides for greater precision when making crosscuts. But does it really help? To some extent, yes. But it’s really something you can do without especially if you’re an experienced hobbyist or professional. I’d rather go for a sliding miter saw with an LED light, such as the Ryobi 7 1/4 Sliding Mitre Saw. The Bosch GCM12SD is an exceptional sliding miter saw that delivers top-notch performance. Its innovative glide system ensures smooth and precise cuts, making operation effortless. With its 12-inch blade, it can handle various materials and provide accurate angles. The build quality is excellent, and its durability makes it a reliable choice for both professionals and woodworking enthusiasts. On top of that, bevel cuts require more cutting power to ensure that the saw does not tear out the wood material– though using the right type of blade is just as important. One thing to consider is that corded miter saws rate their power in amps while best cordless miter saws rate their power in volts. Capacity Double Compound – The next step up from a compound miter saw is the double compound miter and distinguishes itself by allowing you to make miter cuts from either angle. Technically this is a convenience quality as you invert the measurements otherwise, but it is a solid feature for less experienced woodworkers. Designed for power and portability, this sliding mitre saw is ideal for DIYers or renovators who want to make accurate cross, bevel, mitre and compound cuts in wood. Providing an impressive 70mm x 270mm max cut capacity at 90°, this cordless mitre saw is suitable for cutting a wide range of wood types including 2” x 10” pine or oak. Featuring a front rail design makes the saw more compact and lightweight for ease of transportation and storage. The premium cast aluminium table base provides a perfectly flat cutting surface and the onboard laser ensures maximum visibility of the cut line. Using the supplied thin kerf 216mm 48 tooth carbide tipped blade provides superb performance, cut quality and increased run times.

It has a transparent lower blade guard that allows you to see your material as you cut it. The base is solid and stable, while the miter scales are clear and easy to see. This is one of the few saws with high sliding fences that have scales etched on them. Choose a fence with a cast-in scale so you can easily make repetitive cuts. Some of the products we have reviewed here have cast-in scales on sliding or stationary fences. Although it does not have cast-in scales, the Dewalt sliding miter saw stands out because of its tall sliding fences. The fences are also textured, ensuring that the workpiece sits against it securely and will not easily slip while you cut it. The best sliding miter saw is the Bosch Power Tools GCM12SD 12 Inch Sliding Glide Miter Saw. All of the sliding miter saws we’ve reviewed can produce crosscuts, bevel cuts, and miter cuts easily. Some can even produce compound cuts. But the Bosch sliding miter saw has some features that made it particularly stand out. Let’s take a look at them.Crosscuts and miter cuts are a piece of cake for this tool. Unlike other miter saws, it has a dual bevel system that lets you tilt the saw left and right to make bevel cuts. It’s not a big deal for some users, but it makes the job easier as the user doesn’t have to reorient the workpiece to make another cut. Plus, its bevel angle range swings up to a maximum of 47° on both sides. The Metabo HPT C12RSH2S 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw is another drop saw fit for professionals and serious hobbyists. As you can tell, it has a robust 12″ blade protected by a see-through blade guard. Cutting a large, wide, and tough workpiece is not going to be a problem thanks to its powerful motor. The RYOBI TSS120L Sliding Miter Saw is easily the most impressive miter saw in this review in terms of pure capability, but you will have to pay a pretty penny for it. Though, if you do, you will not be disappointed as it roars with a 15-amp motor that can cut under load better than any other entry on our list. The main issue with the RYOBI P553 Cordless Compound Miter Saw comes with its capacities which are some of the smallest in this Ryobi miter saw review at 2” for maximum depth and 4 ½” for maximum crosscut width. One interesting quality of this miter saw is that it tends to be much quieter than the others likely due to the cordless design. When it comes to performance, this Delta Miter Saw truly delivered. It can cut hard MDF panels and dense hardwoods easily. It can make basic crosscuts, bevel, and miter cuts. It has a laser guide for improved accuracy, but keep in mind that this feature is powered by a pair of batteries.
