About this deal

This time you can pick out more stone fruits, even some apple in there, and the bready aromas are complemented by some more hoppy, spicy and floral ones. In the mouth, spicy notes of yeast and hops sharp bitterness are finely counterbalanced by the full-rounded malts. A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts.

Goudale", as it explains on the label, was how the people of 14th century France would describe "good beer". Perfectly balanced Belgian yeast and rich Munich malt complexity; with great noble hop presence/balance for the style. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. With its perfect balance between malt and hops, G de Goudale Grand Cru is an absolute gem that is worth trying if only to compare it to La Goudale so as to savour the dry hopping effect!

abv Besides the goldenblond ale, a darker version of the townbeer has been created : Brugse Zot double, with 7,5 % Vol alc. This lively wash of flavours makes it hard to pin down exactly what’s going on with the flavour, but what I can be sure of is a total absence of the mustiness I've experienced in other French keeping beers. The careful selection of special malts flavoured with Flemish hops gives to la Goudale it’s unique balance. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. As the brewery now also makes beers which were inherited as a result of mergers, in the section products there will be beers which were not traditionally made by Goudale. Taste of big orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, light banana/clove, honey, cracker, biscuit dough, toast, light caramel/nutty, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness.

Goudale is a golden colored beer amaraillo forming a crown of foam relatively persistent, its aroma is fruity and spicy with intense notes of yeast in the mouth known for its softness and fruitiness. Please note that we are not IOSS registered due to the nature of our products (alcoholic beverages).Aroma of grainy and bready malt along with dried straw, woody spiciness, some floral character, soft orange marmalade, dried apricot, dull apple, and a hint of a clove-like phenol from the yeast. Bubbling lively from the bottom (of the glass, that is), it almost looks like a slightly darker lager.

Recently renovated, the state of the art brewery produces La Goudale, a French ale in the “Biere de garde” (beers that can be aged) style.Notes: Brewed from pale and caramel malts with 3 Flemish hop varieties and coriander and bitter orange peel. Aromas of big orange, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, light banana/clove, honey, cracker, biscuit dough, toast, light caramel/nutty, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. The first thing that came to mind once I'd had a sip was that it tasted different from the other ales I'd had from the same style (which isn't that unusual, given that it's a bit of an "anything goes" style, although you normally get similarities across the board). Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode.
