About this deal

Now almost a decade later, the LEGO Group is giving the iconic ship another version for its new appearance in Ahsoka. Making its live action debut, the set comes with 400 more pieces than the first iteration and the overall design really shows that. The torso fares better, especially since printing covers both sides. The mix of white and light bluish grey elements is unexpected, but that looks reasonable too, in my opinion. Moreover, I like the short legs and the 1x1 round tile on top of the head is a welcome addition, representing Chopper's external transmitter.

Needless to say, the LEGO Star Wars Ghost and Phantom 2 (75357) set is a must-have for both LEGO enthusiasts and Star Wars fans alike. With its intricately built starships, impressive minifigures, and the ability to recreate iconic scenes, this set offers endless possibilities for imaginative play. I blame Filoni for that. Moichendizing, moichendizing, moichendizing!! We needed a sleeker Phantom III (the Search for More Money).

Next to the Gunship there will be another set based on the Clone Wars this summer with the Republic Swamp Speeder. The set will arrive in true UCS fashion, featuring a build that is entirely focused on display. There’s no interior to speak of, with a design that will remind builders of the UCS Star Destroyer. Except with nearly 600 more pieces, there’s going to be some more detail. Most of that is going to enter in the form of the red color scheme that the grey ship has, with some mosaic-style Republic insignias giving the Venator its iconic look. C1-10P, better known as Chopper, is Hera's faithful droid companion. This version of the droid is simpler than the equivalent introduced in 2014 and I am disappointed with the printing on his conical head, which comes nowhere near covering its whole circumference, unlike the Chopper figure produced before. Of course, the design being printed askew is also frustrating.

This is the first of several upcoming LEGO sets based on the Ahsoka TV series, so hang tight to see if we get other sought-after characters like Ahsoka herself, Sabine and Grand Admiral Thrawn. The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author. Minifigures

Ghost & Phantom II was revealed to acclaim in July and I have been looking forward to the set more than any other released this summer. Fortunately, the Ghost does not disappoint! The vehicle looks absolutely stunning, featuring an accurate colour combination and wonderful texture across the exterior, substantially improving on 75053 The Ghost. The model also feels very tactile, as every panel is firmly attached. Comparing the original 2014 model with the newer iteration from 2023 is really the best way to see how the LEGO Group has improved the design. It might be nearly double the cost of the original, but I do think that we have one of the year’s best creations on our hands. What’s left from the LEGO Star Wars summer 2023 sets The interior of 75053 The Ghost was limited due to the size of the set, leaving out the multiple rooms and other spaces within the Star Wars: Rebels ship. In a bigger build of The Ghost, the interior could be expanded. Star Wars Rebels fan rejoice, as the Australian LEGO Certified Store has revealed the first LEGO Star Wars set based on the upcoming Ahsoka TV series – 75357 Ghost & Phantom II! Almost all of the new sets will hit shelves by August 1st or September 1st. Republic Gunship (75354)

Exact details of what this set will include have not been released as of this time, but it was confirmed that it would come with four figurines of Rey, Finn, BB-8, and Chewbacca. 2.) Republic Gunship [75354] LAAT Republic Gunship Two functions are found on the underside, both linked to a 13M Technic beam, located behind the forward landing leg. Sliding this Technic beam sideways activates the pair of spring-loaded shooters and rotates the laser cannons. The assembly works smoothly and the dark bluish grey beam is comfortably accessible when gripping the model, although the spring-loaded shooters can be fired accidentally. There are no details as of yet on next year’s LEGO Star Wars advent calendar, beyond the fact it exists (no prizes for guessing that one) and that it will apparently contain 320 pieces. That’s nine fewer pieces than 2022’s 75340 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, so it’s not difficult to believe. 75371 [18+] All I ask is: 1) have some passion for your subject matter; and 2) have a little knowledge about your subject matter.Includes 4 never-before-seen minifigures with assorted weapons: Kanan Jarrus™, Hera Syndulla™, Zeb Orrelios™ and a new Stormtrooper™ Another Return of the Jedi diorama said to be on the way in 2023, this set will reportedly capture the frenetic speeder bike chase through the forests of Endor – and there are plenty of ways the LEGO Group could really make this a Star Wars set to remember. A third diorama is apparently also in the works, depicting Jabba’s Palace, but we’re still waiting on a specific set number for that one. (There are several free slots in the current list.) 75355 [UCS] It seems as though LEGO is planning for the remainder of 2023 to be massive when it comes to Star Wars releases, and then the leak that there will be a UCS version of Jabba's Sail Barge in 2024 only adds to the excitement for collectors.

Continuing the Clone Wars action, the 2023 LEGO Star Wars lineup will also be seeing another build from the prequels. Focused loosely on season seven of the series, the next kit from the wave will be assembling a Republic Swamp Speeder. The unique vehicle has gotten the LEGO treatment a few times over the years, and the latest version will be arriving this summer as set number 75359. The rear section leaves a lot to be desired. Given its proximity to the engines, this would have been an ideal place for some internal mechanical detail. Alternatively, there is ample space for the bunk beds shown regularly in Star Wars Rebels, maybe featuring some of Sabine's artwork or the hidden storage compartment where Kanan keeps a holocron. As an owner of the original Ghost and Phantom, I’m definitely looking forward to this being released and comparing both of them side by side! It’s great that a whole new generation of LEGO Star Wars fans, especially those who have just discovered Rebels recently to get another shot at owning a Ghost. The set is said to contain 5 Minifigures: Hera, Chopper, Quarrie, Hera's son Jacen and another yet unknown figure. Along with the Gunship, this set will be released on September 1st.

Yoda's Jedi Starfighter (75360)

Given the almost legend-status of the original LEGO Ghost and Phantom, I think this set will sell incredibly well, especially if the Ahsoka series is well-received.
