About this deal

AfterShokz Aeropex: Perhaps you don’t want the clunkiness of headphones. In that case, we recommend the AfterShokz Aeropex, a set of bone-conduction headphones that keeps you aware of your surroundings by leaving your ear canals wide open. These things are also sturdy af. You can twist the band round any which way and they’ll survive, so you also shouldn’t worry about throwing them into a gym bag with your other gear. Plantronics has also kept them compact (well, by over-ear standards at least) meaning they a) fold up nicely, and b) are unlikely to get in the way even if you’re lifting weights overhead or throwing your arms up during a HIIT session. Whichever colour you opt for, the textured fabric finish and hexagonal interior lining hint – albeit subtly – that these have been designed with sports in mind, though not so much that you’d ever feel self-conscious wearing them outside the gym.

Well, you’d better sit down. The price point is very surprising. They perform at a level that far exceeds their cost. The price point is at a level that most will be able to afford. They have been given an IPX5 rating, which means they are certainly sweatproof and can handle moisture. They will also be ok in a rain shower unless it is a deluge. We don’t recommend them for the pool. We are a collective bunch of geeks who love to share our passion with the rest of the world. Just like the Beholder we have adopted as our mascot, we have both depth and width of geeky topics we cover. The mic offers mediocre intelligibility. Using the Voice Memos app on an iPhone 8, we could understand every word we recorded, but there were two issues. First, the typical Bluetooth fuzz distorts the mic a bit. More importantly, the mic signal is about as low as it gets—this may be the faintest signal we've heard on Bluetooth headphones. ConclusionsCall quality is also strong, though that’s no surprise – Plantronics is primarily a headset company, so knows its way around a microphone or two. There’s also an Awareness mode that lets you tweak how much outside noise is let in, whether that’s to hear traffic on an outdoors run or chat to your gym buddy between sets. The 6100 seems to alleviate that issue with this cord. When secured, will exert resistance and tighten the headphones around your head when you start moving. It’s a simple but effective mechanic, though concerns may be raised about how long this thin band will last before it wears off and snaps after all that tightening. It is extremely hard to fix anything with this speakers, Plantronics service says it is not repairable, but... I can trot out that I have replaced one speaker from broken one my (green) with successful

As good as the three EQ modes are, it is also quite bizarre that Plantronics decided to limit users to just three preset modes. It would’ve made listening on the 6100 much more enjoyable had we more audio options available to us. Was there a solution at all? This has just happened to me too. And I’ve only used it twice. Can’t find the receipt. So frustrating. What a rubbish product!!!! The sound is very good, but it goes up a level when you apply the extra tight-fitting option. The sound then reaches its high point whist also improving the passive noise isolation even more. There is an App that comes with the phones where the sound and Awareness mode can be adjusted to tailor it exactly to what you want. I am having the same issue. I won't hit them or whatnot but this is rediculious and way too costly. I wish I had seen this first. Not a happy camper!!!Just about every feature you might want shy of active noise-cancellation is here, and most importantly it all delivers. And while there’s no ANC, the passive noise cancellation is good enough to manage a noisy gym and let you make the most of the impressive audio quality. I got a pair for my birthday from my colleagues. Thanks to it I became a gym freak and lost some weight. My wife, seeing my weight loss, decided to get a pair for herself. Cost a lot of money for us in Malaysia. After using mine for 4 months, it no longer charges. My wife’s, after about 6 months, no longer turned on.

Plantronics BackBeat FIT 6100 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

You can adjust the overall EQ settings, but you also get the options to change the functions of the touch controls. They are set to a default mode, which we have already discussed. However, you can change them to include a battery life indicator or even starting a new playlist. There are some options, specially designed for your personal fitness program. These include a timer and a stopwatch. These are designed for exercise people. But there is no reason why they could not be used for the commute to work or other leisure activities. They score a lot of points on their build quality and the design included. The Water-Resistance Headphones for the gym are quite an exclusive market, and these create a new style within that market. They have adjustments that you can make to match the level of your workout. And they also have very impressive water-resistant features. But the styling makes these more than just headphones for the gym. These could be used anywhere. Even on the commute and they wouldn’t look out of place.

Why is Plantronics BackBeat Fit 6100 better than the average?

They have a textured finish and are given a hexagonal design in the fabric. This is not just for styling, and it actually provides a better grip when you are working out. The headband is not particularly attractive to look at, but it is very functional. They are working hard while you do and have an IPX5 water-resistant rating to cope with sweat. If you’re going to be working out, chances are you’re going to be sweating; as we all know, water and electronics don’t mix. The best workout headphones feature some kind of water-resistant certification, denoted by an IP rating. How much does battery life matter? In the 1960s, airline pilot’s headsets were so big and awkward that many pilots reverted to hand-held systems. Courtney Graham, a United Airlines pilot, got together with his friend Keith Larkin, also a pilot who worked for Japanese company Plane-Aids. They designed a small hearing aid like speaker system attached to a lightweight headband. No matter what we use, our headphones for the sound they give us is important. And some phones are set up to suit the environment they are designed for. These deliver on a number of fronts but rather surprisingly in one particular area, as we will go into soon.

Plantronics BackBeat Fit 6100 Review - Tech Advisor

It is fitted with Bluetooth 5-0 capability, which helps to deliver a quality connection and response. There is though no aptX support, and it only supports AAC. If we have to find something wrong with these phones, that could be one area they could improve. You can pair up with iOS and Android devices. There aren’t many audio manufacturers that can say that. Today they have changed their name from Plantronics to Poly, but that is a recent transition. For the moment, most people still recognize them as Plantronics. For the purposes of this review, so shall we. An Overview JLab Flex Sport: With a 20-hour battery life and sweat-resistant build, this headset is made for you to take to the gym. What mars the 6100’s performance compared to some of the more distinguished competition out there, however, is its generally low volume. Even at max volume, the sound that comes out of it isn’t anything ear-splitting. However, there seems to be a considerable amount of sound leakage when you put it on, so you might want to exercise some caution when blasting music from it in public. The operating controls are located on the outside of the earcups as per usual. They are quite easy to operate. As an example, to increase or decrease the volume is just a swipe up or down. Amidst the clatter of barbells and the thump of my gym’s mediocre workout playlist the Fit 6100s sound great even without any active noise cancellation, and the sound profile is surprisingly balanced, with only a slight lean towards the bassy end. Bluetooth 5.0 helps keep quality up over wireless, though there’s no AptX support to be found. If you are looking for fancy designs and stunning aesthetics, you’d better look elsewhere. They look quite ordinary and actually quite bulky. However, there is something very reassuring and mature about understated designs. When you get some kind of outrageous design, it usually sends the wrong message. Cameron you are a life saver. Had the same issue, so kept punching the left knob, now it turns on finally. Mine is out of warranty phew! So, as you can see, it’s almost all about stuff that’s important to the active person. Did you know that Plantronics headsets were used by NASA on the lunar missions?
