About this deal

If it's pretty clear of obstructions then the 12lb is lovely, this year had to step up to 15lb xm because of zebra mussels, it's quite wiry but is very tough.

CM90 is a high grade line designed specifically with the modern carp angler in mind. It has high abrasion resistance, added density to increase sink rate and a supple, smooth profile to maximise long distance casting. yea I used cm90 for 2 years, lovely behaved line but I'm sure the most see through type coloured lines get you more day time bites. Just started using the syncro xt and seems to be ok, I’ve had 11 fish on it and did loose one to a snap off, rubbed against a root on a island, pretty sure the technium would have handled it better, Also it states 0.037 but feels thinner to me. but seems like a ok line. Think when I next re spool it’ll be technium again. You really can’t beat it Definitely upped my catch rate during the day on pro distance instead of cm90 dunno if its the colour? Want something supple like cm90 tho. Was thinking maybe esp synchro xt loaded. Fishing close on intimate waters, so need a gd sinking line. There are six breaking strains available: 8, 10, 12, 15, 18 and 20lb, with diameters starting at 0.28 and topping out at 0.45mm.

As with all lines, ignore the BS and go by the diameter. I’ve used the .38 rated as 15lb in the UK. Will clearly break much higher than 15lb but does behave well for a .38 line and I found it to be tough and cast pretty well for a heavy-ish mono I've been off the mono over a year, the get pro distance is catching me fish and I like it but it is seriously twisted and kinked, time to replace...Interesting about the CM90, I’m on the Trent which is low and clear and I can’t buy a bite in the daytime, not a single one in 9 days this season. I had 20-odd fish last weekend (Barbel, Bream, Chub and Carp) and every one was between 9pm and 5am. Thanks for that Yonny., I have to admit that I don't cast it as I drop the rigs from a rowing boat, but will be interested to see how it performs over time - not hat I catch anything so it doesn't really matter anyway! I use it in 8, 15 & 18. Easily the limpest, memory free line I have used. Sinks really well, very abrasion resistant. It certainly doesn't feel wiry to me.

You just get people recommending what they use and they have no idea of the properties of what they are using. As our talented Yank pals know, fishing with superlines is becoming more and more popular within the carp scene, simply because the benefits of braided lines is obvious. Hmm mm... started spooling it up and noticed any kinks stay kinked.. tying knots pigtailed badly.. not happy with it so took it off. I found it quite decent apart from for abrasion resistance, compared to the gr60 on my other spools it didnt even come close The loaded is a decent line but it's less supply, takes a set (coiling), and doesn't deal with twist as well as the standard XT imo.i liked it in 15lb it does stand out in mid water but i found it sunk very well and a lot better than most other mono's i have used Agreed fantastic abrasion qualities in my experience, heavy weed, or Norfolk reeds in 15lb no line damage at all What’s more, this Berkley Connect CM70 Mono is also exceptionally abrasion resistant. Friction wearing down patches on your line is one of the biggest causes of line failure out there. In fact, you can have the strongest line in the world but if it isn’t abrasion resistant then it won’t last you five minutes on the bank. Fishing line undergoes friction at every stage of the angling process, whether that is when you’re reeling in (running the line through the line guides) or casting out (with the line whipping off the reel). Although you can invest in carp rodswith low friction guides and reelswith low friction spool lips, eliminating all friction in these scenarios is impossible. However, with a line that offers this kind of abrasion resistance, you can be confident that it won’t let you down when you need it the most and it significantly reduces your chances of line failure in intense carp fishing scenarios.
