The launch of the Gallant Pioneers kit has been supported by a unique 150th anniversary season video, ‘’The Legacy of Ready’ developed entirely in-house at Rangers, featuring appearances from a number of modern day first team stars. Now Rangers have announced their plans for celebrating the anniversary, with the special crest set to play a big part in the celebrations.

The first ever recognised game of football in Scotland took place in November 1872 when 11 Queen's Park players faced England in a 0-0 draw at Hamilton Crescent cricket ground in Partick. The club has a deep history with Glasgow and has had many homes throughout the city before moving to the site of the current Ibrox Stadium in 1899.

And that famous Auld Enemy clash is now being remembered by 18 months of celebrations with Steve Clarke's men hosting Gareth Southgate's side at Hampden on September 12 as part of it. Luis Figo will lead a galaxy of football legends for a star-studded friendly against a Rangers Legends side in a glamour friendly at Ibrox next year. And the Dutchman will be up against his Ibrox first team coach and strike legend Roy Makaay with the ex-Bayern Munich man also taking part. March 2022 is a focal point of our 150th anniversary celebrations, and we look forward to collectively celebrating this prestigious milestone with our supporters around the world, but there is so much more to come including the opening of New Edmiston House and the much-anticipated museum, as well as the Blue Sky Lounge restaurant and hospitality suite in the Sandy Jardine Stand.
