About this deal

Saturn and Jupiter are clearly identifiable and a joy to watch, as is the Orion nebula and Andromeda galaxy. From there it is a mixed bag with objects such as the Pleadies being easy to see and pretty spectacular, The Lagoon and Eagle nebulae are quite pleasing but require a bit more effort, while the Ring and Dumbbell nebulae are virtually impossible to get any enjoyment out of with the Celestron Powerseeker 70AZ beyond finding them. I wear glasses and the shorter focal length simpler design eyepieces with few glass elements are very difficult for me to look through and still be able to see all the field of view. This property is called "Eye Relief". More complex and expensive eyepieces can be shorter focal length just like your 4mm one, but, unlike your 4mm one can have much longer eye relief and are thus MUCH easier to look through without your eye lashes brushing the oils in your eye lashes onto the coatings on the glass "eye lens" that you see at the top of the eyepiece. But they are complex, heavy and expensive. Despite this optically advantageous design, however, light loss caused by both mirrors and the secondary mirror’s obstruction in the 76AZ results in it having no better performance in light gathering or resolving power than a puny 60mm refractor; yet even still, it presents several advantages over one, including no chromatic aberration and its shorter focal length that allows for a wider field of view and lower power viewing with given eyepieces. In addition to these benefits, collimation of the AstroMaster 76AZ is easy because of its long focal ratio, though you will have to provide your own tools since none are included with the scope.

As your new telescope would give you 175X with the 4mm eyepiece, it's quite understandable that it's giving you trouble. 175X, which you derive by dividing the focal-length of the telescope - 700mm - by the focal-length of the eyepiece - 4mm - using the formula: 700mm / 4mm = 175X - and this is the upper limit of magnification for this telescope. You find this by gauging the rule of 50 to 60X per inch of aperture, or 3." This so-called 'rule' is quite loosely used. This would be doable only on night with very good 'seeing' conditions. Which is rare. And forget it altogether with the Barlow lens. The PowerSeeker 70 is a refractor telescope perfect for terrestrial and celestial viewing on the go. The PowerSeeker can view the planets, moon, star clusters and brighter deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy at night. The erect image star diagonal makes the optical tube ideal for using as a spotting scope during the day. seo_url" : "https://www.karkkainen.com/ProductDisplay?urlRequestType=Base&catalogId=10051&categoryId=22212501&productId=167818001&urlLangId=-11&langId=-11&top_category=&parent_category_rn=&storeId=10151",

The Celestron AstroMaster LT 76AZ reflector telescope includes a pair of three-element eyepieces offering a 50-degree apparent field of view—a 20mm for 45x and a 10mm for 90x. There are better eyepieces for sure, but both of the supplied oculars are acceptable in quality and feature glass optics and plenty of eye relief, which unfortunately are not always a given with such a low-priced scope. You will probably not need any other eyepieces for the LT 76AZ. No matter the case, assuming the mirrors are Newtonian reflectors they will have their benefits, particularly over the other 2 optical variants in refractor optics and compound optics (A hybrid of both the reflector and refractor optics). Cleaning Cloth & Case - Keep the microfiber cleaning cloth stashed in your PowerSeeker Accessory Kit case so that it will always be handy. It’s better to use a microfiber cloth on your optics than wipes or tissue, as it will not leave a residue, and can be reused. Remember to blow or brush any dust particles off of your optics before rubbing them with the cloth. The Celestron Powerseeker line of telescopes is affordable, and therefore perfect for stargazers new to astronomy. They offer exceptional value, and feature portable yet powerful designs with ample optical performance to excite any newcomer to the world of amateur astronomy. The Powerseeker 76AZ has a Newtonian reflector, offering a larger aperture and greater light gathering power needed to resolve the faint detail of hundreds of deep-sky and other celestial objects. It has a 76mm aperture and 700mm focal length.

All-glass optical components with high transmission coatings for enhanced image brighness and clarity Try looking at a couple of large star clusters like M45 the Seven Sisters star cluster or the Double Cluster between Perseus and Cassiopeia, or even take a look at the "Great Nebula" M42 at the "sword" of Orion and tell us what you think of the views. Don't be disappointed if your view doesn't match the pretty pictures you see in magazines or books at first. Later on, some people get much larger telescopes that can present these Nebulae and clusters MUCH, MUCH brighter and with some interesting colors and much more detail, and cameras can enhance your observing and show you much color and detail as well. We can help you with these things as well. The PowerSeeker 76 comes with all glass optical components with high transmission coatings for enhanced image brightness and clarity. All PowerSeekers come with a full range of eyepieces plus a 3x Barlow lens, allowing an increase in viewing power hundreds of times greater than that of an unaided eye. It also features collapsible altazimuth mounts suitable for terrestrial viewing as well as astronomical use. The accessories aren’t really all that bad considering the price but, they can all certainly be improved if you want the maximum performance out of the 76AZ, particularly the eyepieces. What Are Users Of The Celestron AstroMaster 76AZ Saying? If you live in a place with a brightly lit sky (City) then even simply finding a MUCH darker sky somewhere where there are much smaller populations, will make an ENORMOUS difference to the amount of things you see and how well you see them. And to some extent using Light Pollution filters can help. Then again you’d be hard pressed to find solid optics within this price range anyways. What Do The Celestron AstroMaster 76AZ’s Specifications Mean?
