About this deal

I made resin copies of wingnuts which were glued into place on the trim ring. About 15 of these resin duplicates weighed as much as a single wingnut. Since I had to wear this thing, every ounce saved counted! I added velcro to the bottom outer edge of the pants to attach the pants to the shoes so that it kept a uniform look. Awsmoe, I´d kill to do this kind of thing for a living. To bad Uruguay´s prop industry is almost non existing, also it´s almost impossible to gain access to most of the stuff you use. A while ago I wanted to try out a internet design I saw for a compress air cannon and it was a pain just getting the pvc pipes... The rear tank was made from a 12" concrete tube with foam plugs on the top and bottom carved to a dome shape. The bands around the tank were made with foam tape coated in Ureshell.

BioShock Big Daddy Cosplay – Part 1: Beginnings of the Build BioShock Big Daddy Cosplay – Part 1: Beginnings of the Build

The candidates for induction into the Protector Program went through voice box modification and pheromone application, which attracted the Little Sisters to the Big Daddies. After those, the candidates' skin and organs were grafted and integrated into their suit, to become one functional unit. [17] The subjects were then placed in large vats of an unknown yellow substance, and eventually reduced to mindless servitors. However, Splicers continued to evolve over the years, making them more effective in ambushing Big Daddies. This forced Alexander to create a new model of Protector, the Rumbler, which was designed to effectively dispatch larger groups of enemies. [14] Stopping the Program [ ]

Since I was wearing the finished suit at Dragon*Con 2009, I don't have any pictures of my own to show! Instead, I hope the owners of these respective photographs (credited here) don't mind me showing them off a bit. My "Little Sister" is my Fiancee, Emily Keith. Our "Baby Jane Splicer" is our friend Mandie Reese. Thank you for posting! I am currently designing for next year and my costume has some similar parts as yours. I have used foam in the past for props but never a suit and so I wasn't sure if it would be stable enough. I kept looking over my blueprints and wondering what in the world you used. Thank you again! I just read every entry in your blog. I am so impressed with what you do, and it seems like you do it for your own enjoyment. How do you get into something like this? I get the impression that you are a bit of a perfectionist and want to have the most authentic amazing costumes. I also think you have quite a bit of artistic talent. I just wanted you to know how amazing all of your creations look (as if you didn't already know that). Do you take apprentices? :-) With this breakthrough, it led to the further bonding of Big Daddies to Little Sisters, where Pheromones were used to make the girls attracted to the Big Daddies and not be afraid of them as they had been previously. With the bonding system now working, the Memorial Museum at Point Prometheus was changed to the Proving Grounds to be used for Big Daddy training. Suchong, who got the short end of the bargain, was still looking for the solution in genetic compatibility. Using the Lutece Device still left in his possession, he intended to steal a DNA sample of Fink's bonded test subject [10] but his research was put on hold when the City Council closed the department store to turn it into a prison for Fontaine's criminal gang. His Tear device was eventually damaged by vandals, but could still be remotely controlled from his clinic and secret laboratory at Artemis Suites, Apollo Square. On December 31, Suchong finally acquired the DNA sample from Elizabeth herself (ironically unknown to him that she was the same test subject who once bonded to Songbird) as she'd gone to the restaurant to repair the Lutece Device to return to Columbia.

after everything is hardened I cut out as much foam and board as I could to make it as light as possible. Mine actually has a little foam in the arm are and on the top so that the stand will not break through. Very, very well made! I didn't read the document because I don't have the time but the pictures alone express how epic it is. Well done. I'm going to post a link on my blog if that's alright. My brother and I are going as a Big Daddy and Little Sister for Halloween and I was wondering if if would be possible to get your dimensions for the body of your suit? It would, of course, be immensely appreciated. I'm sure that we could figure it out on our own, but due to clashing work schedules we haven't been able to get a straight day of attention to the project. So, any help would be a godsend. I’ve used quite a few different tools on the road so far; some I already owned, some I had to buy, and some I even made. My plan was roughly to just keep throwing tools at the foam until a costume spontaneously formed. A pile of tools! Another pile of tools! Suchong suggested this idea to Andrew Ryan, knowing that becoming a Big Daddy was a "one-way street", but he fretted about being able to find suitable candidates. However, Ryan gave assurances that it would not be a problem. [5] While the true identities of most of the candidates were unknown, many were exiled criminals, the criminally insane, and political dissidents imprisoned in Persephone, which was under the management of Augustus Sinclair, the owner of the plasmid research company, Sinclair Solutions. With the help of Sofia Lamb, who was herself imprisoned at Persephone at that time and acting as a psychiatrist for the other inmates, Sinclair would send chosen test subjects from Persephone to both Fontaine Futuristics and Ryan Industries. Now that the foam is dry and solid you can begin to shape it. I used the electric knife to do the shaping . This was you can shave off areas as you go without making drastic cuts that may damage your design. continue shaping until the silhouette is smooth and the right shape. I started by cutting the R-Matte (RM) board into 3 - 3 ft sections. I then took and cut it into the rough cut=away shape. Also from the remaining R-matte board make a shoulder portion, a 3Ft circle for the front access port of the dome and then 2- 10" circles for the arms. As I placed the cardboard I tried to form the end shape of the body. your best bet is to cut you form down to a more permanent size at this point, so that there is only about a 2 -3" depth at the most from the cardboard to the top edge so that you don't go through as much expandable foam as I did.
