About this deal

Also, hot weather means you need to have cooling options on hand for you and your loved ones (human and animal). Sportsmen and women constantly use ice/cryotherapy after training or competing to treat injuries, reduce swelling and numb pain. Or, if you are in the acute phase and need to apply cold every 2 hours then keeping both in the freezer means you will always have one ready to go at the right temperature. These small packs are a good size for isolating areas and the blue gel freezes enough (not rock solid) that lasts a long time. Useful, convenient size to cover most problem areas sufficiently, and they stay squidgy and malleable when frozen so they can be 'moulded' around the affected area, or are comfy to lie on.

Hot and cold pack covers can be particualrly useful for people with sensitive skin and are also strongly advised for use on children when applying an ice pack or heat pack. Suitable for use on all ages to provide effective pain relief, our hot and cold pack is an extremely useful addition to any first aid kit. I originally purchased the Hypagel reusable hot and cold pads for post-surgery recovery from my wisdom tooth extraction. The sooner ice is applied to a muscle strain or sprain, the quicker the pain and swelling is reduced – speeding up the recovery process. Constructed from a fabric-feel pouch containing a non-toxic gel, the QuickSoothe Hot/Cold pack measures approximately 13cm x 27cm. However, later in the rehabilitation process, when the acute phase has passed, alternating hot and cold, or applying just heat may be more beneficial. It is the weight of gel in the pack rather than its dimensions which determines how long the pack stays hot or cold.

The pack will remain either cold or warm for longer than this but the effect will not be as beneficial as during the early period of use. Simple to use and provides long-lasting hot or cold therapy, longer than a standard instant hot or cold pack. They mention that its excellent value for money, the packs are the perfect size for isolating areas and that the blue gel freezes enough. During the hot therapy treatment, the blood vessels expand, increasing circulation and the flow of healing oxygen and nutrients to the injury. They say it is very effective, works just as well in a fridge as well as freezer, and is very useful on holiday.A fairly good product, and certainly worked for cooling our beds in the middle of the summer heatwave. Depending upon the ambient temperature, the hot and cold pack can remain hot for up to 40 minutes and can remain cold for up to 2 hours. Pop the pack in the freezer for cold therapy, and pop it in the microwave for heat therapy – simple! You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Each pack can be used as both a hot or cold pack by either heating the pack in the microwave or in the freezer prior to use.

Our hot and cold pack sleeve is a must-have for any sports therapists, physios or sports medicine professionals who use ice packs frequently. A reusable hot or cold gel pack that can be used either warmed in boiling water or frozen in the freezer for the treatment of inflammation and pain usually caused by sprains, strains, twist, turns and soft tissue injuries. Other uses for the pack include; treating toothaches, headaches, reducing fever, muscle aches, back pain, sinusitis, menstrual cramps, pulled muscles, torn muscles and arthritis.During the cold therapy treatment, the blood vessels constrict, reducing circulation which allows the injured area to soak up the nutrient rich blood before it is pumped on.

For the best results to heat them up, we would recommend putting them in a microwave however using hot water will also work. After the first 3 to 5 days of cold therapy for an acute injury, experts like The Mayo Clinic recommend alternating hot and cold therapy for effective pain relief and recovery from muscle tears, overuse injuries and chronic joint pain.Bear in mind that if you leave the pack in the freezer for more than a couple of hours, the pack may freeze solid. We've optimised the gel content so when the heat pack or cold pack is wrapped around a body part the gel spreads evenly throughout the pack, providing greater contact and improved results for pain relief and recovery. For hot therapy place the pack in the microwave before use and for cold therapy place the pack in freezer before use.
