About this deal

After round 3: score 3pts for each blue card in your gardens AND 4pts for each green card AND 7pts for each grey card AND score your pink cards based on an arithmetic progression. Play Tokaido 2. Takenoko – Care For a Giant Panda Ever wanted to care for a giant panda? Now you can! Even though the board game scene in Japan isn’t too huge (to the levels of Europe of America), it’s still worth a look if you’re interested in doing a few deep dives on the Board Game Geek Forum. Wolf Man: The Wolf Man, or Larry as he is remembered in the village, is a good man who is haunted by this terrible affliction. The players are first tasked with discovering a cure for him and then administering the cure, thus “defeating” him.

Once you’ve chosen two cards, you will pass the remaining cards on to the next player. Before you look at any new cards, all players will reveal the two cards they’ve selected, and place them into one of three gardens or discard them.

Something Evil’s Lurking In The Dark – The Monsters

Each round starts by dealing ten cards to each player. Then players select two cards to keep for their gardens. Small box card games make up about 25% of my board game collection — and that jumps to just over 40% if you count strictly card-based games in bigger boxes with a few components like cardboard tokens or a board (games like 7 Wonders and Lost Cities, for instance). I knew I liked little card games quite a lot, but even these numbers surprised me.

Perk Cards are little bonuses that a player can use during the Hero Phase on any player’s turn and it doesn’t cost an action. These Cards often allow players to move more freely, move a Monster, or perform more actions. Ben: Did you hear about Mr. Hall? Apparently the bandaged stranger at the inn, you know the one from out of town, threw Hall down the stairs. The doctors say they aren’t sure if Mr. Hall will make it. At the end of round 2, players score 3 points for each blue card and 4 points for each green card (with the grass motif) in all of their gardens. At the end of round 2, this player would score 21 points for their blue cards (7 cards x 3 points) and 32 points for their green ones (8×4). The game has 3 rounds and the gardens are valued after every round. At the end of the game, the player’s gardens bloom magnificently with Japanese cherry blossom, which is rewarded with even more points. The Mummy: The players must break the Mummy’s curse by aligning scarabs on a tablet and then, once the tablet is activated, entombing (defeating) the Mummy for eternity.Games are only 20 minutes and games are plenty fun and not in a way that limits playing it over and over again. These things alone is going to give you a satisfying level of replayability. For how much gameplay there is to enjoy with the low price tag of Ohanami, there is no way you are going to be dissatisfied with the number of plays you get out of this box, but it probably will not make it into heavy rotation. Player Interaction ( 7 out of 10) After each round (all cards have been depleted) there is scoring depending on which round it is. After round 1, only the blue motifs score, after round 2, blue and green motifs score and after the final round all colors score. See the Scoring chart below in the how to play Ohanami Key information section.

For round three, players have ten more cards and pass cards to the left once again. At the end of this round, players once again score for their blue and green cards, while also receiving 7 points for each gray card in their rows. Additionally, each player scores for their pink cherry blossom cards, with these cards having a pyramidal scoring structure: one card = 1 point, two cards = 3, three cards = 6, etc. Whoever has the highest total score wins!

About Dale Yu

The aim of the game is to keep your giant panda happy by building the three types of bamboo and keep them irrigated. Thus, the other way to separate yourself from your opponents is to play more cards than them. As you can see, all cards will eventually score – but you just need to make sure that you don’t limit your further expansion too much. There is a nice risk/reward to adding extreme cards at the end of rounds one and two. If you are able to continue playing cards through the rest of the game, the gamble will surely pay off! To resolve the Items, draw the indicated number of Item tokens from the bag and add them to their location, which is found on the bottom of the Item token. Then resolve the Event. Villager (gray) cards must always be resolved, but Events for Monsters are only resolved if that Monster is in your game. If not, ignore the Event. (In the picture above, if the Invisible Man wasn’t in the game, players would ignore the Thief Event.) Each player will take turns rotating around the group until there are no cards left to choose from. This signifies the end of a round, which there are three of in the game. Work strategically to build your garden with the highest points before the game comes to an end! SETUP
