About this deal

After an early look this week, LEGO have finally unveiled the entire 2023 LEGO Indiana Jones range featuring sets and iconic scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade. ToD has *never* received a lot of merchandise because of its content matter - the very last wave of Hasbro action figures released in the revival line for CRYSTAL SKULL were all ToD based and were VERY hard to find - so it's possible LucasFilm has reached the point where they just want to sweep it under the rug. Climb the stairs and fight a few more Thuggees near the cage where the village children are being held. The entrance to this level is the same as for the 1st Story Level: the garage in the right corner of the Shanghai neighborhood. Since this is a vehicle level, it doesn't matter which two characters you use.

Always sorry to hear about these late-in-the game cancellations. And the reasons behind them not to mention all the other non-stated reasons. Escape from the Lost Tomb building set provides hours of thrilling adventure with this detailed playset inspired by the Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark film. Help Indy search for the Ark of the Covenant in the snake infested Well of Souls and escape by climbing the massive Anubis statue and finding the hidden passage. With 600 LEGO pieces, this interactive playset will provide endless hours of fun for children and parents together. That's his overall philosophy. He's happy to work as a professor (except grading papers lol), not live a high life and use small artifacts to help sell to the museum to fund his 'adventures'. Again he doesn't do it for monetary gain. But to protect these priceless artifacts from people who'll exploit those indigenous cultures. It's been 14 years since Lego last released a wave of sets based on the Indiana Jones franchise. But with a new movie imminent – Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny– Lego has revitalized the IP, releasing three new sets based on the famous fictional archeologist. Celebrate the legacy of Indiana Jones™ with this rewarding build as you create the iconic opening scene from the Raiders of the Lost Ark film. On the other hand, the entire Indiana Jones series has received some criticism for its arguable glorification of colonialist archaeology. The idol featured in 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol, for instance, is clearly something the Hovitos tribe considers sacred, but Indiana Jones is portrayed heroically for stealing it. On the other hand, the Hovitos are fictional, merely inspired by the real Chachapoya culture. This isn’t the first time a LEGO set has been cancelled at the last minute. In 2020, the LEGO Group halted the release of 42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey just before it hit shelves, citing its policy not to manufacture military vehicles. The explanation for 77014 The Temple of Doom’s cancellation is much vaguer by contrast, leaving the door open to debate and speculation around exactly why the 801-piece set has faced the chop.

Use a small-size character to go through the crawlspace at the top of the stairs to the right of the slave cage. In the alcove above (i.e., where the escaped slave child is standing next to the lever), you'll find artifact piece #7, along with a valuable purple stud. The thing about that is that Anakin/Vader's instances of doing so are never portrayed as though they were positive actions. They are the actions taken by a character falling into darkness. If there is any heroism in Anakin, it’s that after slaughtering the Tuskens he tries to be a hero for the Republic. It’s comparable to the myth of Heracles/Hercules. Of course, it also shows the deepening flaws in his character, and Padme’s, that he keeps the whole thing quiet.

Naturally more Thuggees come running to see what's happened. As you fight them, one of the freed slaves goes through the crawlspace at the top of the steps on the right and pulls the lever there to raise the 2 square platforms below. You'll use these to reach the exit soon, but there's more to do here first. Move to the tunnel opening above the lava pool. Jump to grab the dangling rope and then jump from there to the small platform ahead. Why do they even let sets get this far into production, only to decide to cancel them for whatever reason? Remember the City dynamite factory? Or the rescue Technic Osprey?" Have Indy jump onto the lift and ride it upward. Jump off onto the ledge and then work your way around to the whip platform on the right. Swing across the gap and smash the cage to free the slave child inside. The small boy squeezes through the crawlspace and pulls the lever in the alcove above to open the exit. A mob of Thuggees rushes in and you must fight them. The presence of the Nazi fighter pilot in 77012 Fighter Plane Chase could also be considered problematic, so I can understand why the reasons for cancelling 77014 The Temple of Doom are unclear. After all, there are potential criticisms of the other sets as well.

The Kali possibility also makes sense to me as it's not just a depiction of a deity, but a rather distorted and evil depiction of said deity.

Pros:

All in all, a promising start to the revival. Before this, LEGO Indiana Jones totaled 16 boxed retail sets across two years / four waves of releases, covering scenes from four films. These give us very little in the way of new scenes, but do at least give us a couple more official characters (one of them *sorely* missed from the previous run), as well as greater builds for some of the previous subject matter, and we all know that whether anything else from the previous movies is coming, we should be getting stuff from the new movie eventually. So… cool! Cool cool cool. The 2023 Temple of Doom set which was meant to be a remake of 7199 The Temple of Doom in inconspicuously absent from this initial wave, and LEGO provided the following statement, via the LEGO Ambassador Network Anything’s possible, but I think that particular possibility is less likely than most of the others. That's some sub-par cg rendering! What's up with that? I hope these images are still not finalized because these seriously remind me of those horrid renderings on today's instructions. With these it's hard to visualize what your set will actually look like in real life! Smash the tool barrel just to the left of the wooden door to get the wrench inside. Use it to repair the engine that runs the lift. Now break the other barrel under the ledge with the slave cage to get a shovel. Use it to dig in the sparkling area on the right to unearth a golden key. Use this in the mechanism under the ledge to raise a whip platform.
