About this deal

Beavertown said it was the most talked-about special of 2021. It said: “High on haze and filled with flavour, this pale ale boasts a delicious balance of grapefruit, tangerine and tropical fruit, making it the beer to help get into the swing of spring. At 4% ABV and 98 calories per can, it’s the perfect option for drinkers looking for something on the lighter side without compromising on taste. The boys are eager to see how well their first two alcoholic gin flavours go down before releasing their third and fourth bottles to the collection. The next two bottles are designed with a little less colour, the third, will be a clear glass bottle and the fourth will be a misted, frosted glass, both aimed to sit elegantly beside the first two released bottles. Made by historic London wine merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd, the six-botanical spirit took two years to develop with Dr David Clutton – a man who holds a PhD in gin (yep, that exists). It was worth the effort. While gin is made from distilled grain spirit, it doesn’t contain gluten peptides and is therefore gluten-free and safe for coeliacs. The verdict: Best gin 2023

The St. George Spirits' portfolio includes gins, vodkas, whiskeys, liqueurs, and even absinthe. It is diverse but every bottle is of the highest quality and perfect examples of the small-batch revolution. While theirpotato-based vodka was a smash hit, spuds were not right for the expansion into gin. The team, led by William Chase, turned to another crop on the distillery's estate, the 200-year-old apple orchards. The botanicals includejuniper, coriander, angelica, licorice, orris, orange, lemon, hops, elderflower, and Bramley apple. It is bottled at a flavorful 48 percent alcohol by volume (ABV, 96 proof). The foraged botanicals are apple mint, bog myrtle, chamomile, creeping thistle, downy birch, elder, gorse, hawthorn, heather, juniper, lady's bedstraw, lemon balm, meadowsweet, mugwort, red clover, spearmint, sweet cicely, tansy, water mint, white clover, wild thyme, and wood sage. They are added gently through the vapors of the still's lyne arm just before the condenser. Moore's experience and Greenall's tradition were the perfect foundations for creating a brand new, very modern gin. It may have taken a woman's touch to create the floral wonder that is Bloom! The distillery did not simply bottle a higher-proof version of the successful Small Batch Gin; they started from scratch and released this one in 2012. The extra juniper and a switch to bergamot for the citrus notes created an entirely new gin that is very fascinating.

The Botanist's botanical blend is extensive and this leads to one of the most complex gins you will taste. The list includes a total of 31 botanicals and two of Islay's resident botanists forage for 22 of those ingredients. It adds a unique meaning to locally-sourced liquor. This creation of their own base spirits sets them apart from the vast majority of gin distilleries which buy in a neutral base spirit which they then rectify. All of their gins are created from spirit distilled using apples or potatoes grown on their farm – William believes this ‘field to bottle’ approach sets Chase apart from other distilleries. The marketing spiel says this is “gin, just as it should be”, and while marketing spiels are usually guff, this one happens to be spot on. It’s hard to find a gin simultaneously this archetypal – it’s a classic London Dry – this elegant, and this flavourful (the finish goes on and on). Whether you’re a G&T obsessive or martini connoisseur, No. 3 hits the mark every time. Though, for the record: we like it best with a slug of classic Indian tonic.

SkinnyBrands marketing manager Lucy Chan Chappells added: “We’re really proud to be continuing to expand the Skinny Lager brand with the launch of the Skinny IPA. There has been an unprecedented rise in new-to-market IPAs, with the global market set to grow annually at 11.4% in over next four years. Skinny IPA is set to lead the way as a lower calorie alternative IPA.” There are four different types of gin: London dry gin, old Tom, Plymouth and navy strength gin. Is gin gluten-free? The great thing about gin is it can be stored for years without going off, but it’s recommended to drink it within two years of opening. Even if you tightly reseal it, it’ll likely lose taste and quality if you leave it any longer. What are the different types of gin?SkinnyBrands chief executive Adrian Hirst, who previously worked for Whitbread in sales and marketing roles, said: “Skinny IPA will offer a unique alternative for drinkers who are making conscious lifestyle decisions when choosing their food and drink. IPA drinkers deserve an alternative choice that is transparent with its calories. We want to encourage the nation to ‘just taste it’. What started with a very fine potato vodka from the Chase Distillery of Hereford, England has grown into a producer of fine gin. If you have discovered the beauty of Chase Vodka, the next step in your adventure is to get a taste of Williams Chase Gin. It also uses local botanicals from close to Wales’s home ground, the Principality Stadium, which make for a zesty spirit with notes of citrus, cardamon and thyme.
