I’m sure this is one of those books where there were lots of discussion about endnotes (At the end of the book) or footnotes (for the bottom of pages), but having read and enjoyed this book, it definitely wanted footnotes, to help those looking for references, and seeing where ideas are coming from. So it was all about showing me each day of the time interval between the first and second competitions. Still, I really did enjoy myself for long stretches and it was mostly because of the chemistry between Ava and Torin. I felt the book kept turning the pages on its own in the first half until I reached about 130 pages.No 500 year old immortal who sweeps up a 19 year old doe-eyed, barely-legal woman and showers her with riches and a new life. Overall, I definitely recommend this if you want something fun that provides a sexy twist on The Bachelor with a high fantasy fae romance. As well as that, the clue comes in the subtitle, ‘A new lens for our cultural conversations’ – this is a book about culture and the conversations that shape and form it. I liked the writing, and some of the steamy scenes were quite nice, but aside from this Frost was a bit of a letdown. But after flaws are pointed out and mistakes are made, will Ava finally be able to find her true lineage or will she come to her demise?

The author could have easily inserted more graphic material, but reigned it in to keep this work accessible to a younger audience.
