About this deal

The point of this device isn't to knock CRTs, which are still awesome if you have a good one and the room for it, but to provide a great alternative. The timing is good, as there are much cheaper and better options available, but there’s still one excellent use for the Framemeister: Streaming!

I have nothing against emulating the Amstrad line of computers, since they were never released here in the USA. Without being able to show examples in person, it's hard to explain why I prefer 480i to 480p from systems that support both from the DC to the Wii, but I do. If you already own a lot of consoles and want an easy solution, it could be more cost effective to get a RetroTINK2x and use the cables you own.The only reason there are different PAL versus NTSC cables for retro consoles is because the PAL and NTSC version of consoles didn't always use the same pinouts on their multi-out connectors, so different cables are often required for the NTSC versus PAL hardware. Shaders are completely different than RetroArch's numerous scaling settings though, and those I've never messed with for HDMI output. Presumably it also got an update when gamepad support for vWii showed up, though I haven’t looked at the firmware again since then. One thing you can do with the l336 is that once you find any other remote that works, you can copy each button to the l336 by using its learning function.

The RetroTINK line of devices that range from affordable linedoubleing (480p) solutions, to fully featured scalers with CRT mask emulation and high resolution output. Now all I need is for some whiz kid to come up with a device that re-enables light guns on modern TV's and my retro-gaming needs will be completely fulfilled. Now this doesn't seem to make a visually difference to my eyes, but I thought it was worth reporting for anyone wanting to use their XRGB as an HDMI switch. This means you're relying on your HDTV to upscale, which as I understand it will do a much worse job than something like the Framemeister and add more lag.If you want to set the remote to the default button mapping, press BTN0 on the OSSC's PCB when "MENU" is displayed. I changed it to "Limited" but the colors appear washed out unless I change the Output Color to "RGB" instead of "Auto", but I noticed that colors appear to be more overly saturated under the RGB Limited + RGB Output Color combination.
