About this deal

A great way to earn money and XP in Cyberpunk is by finding a reliable farming spot. YouTuber Radical Dave Gaming did just that with a spot by the pier in Pacifica! It is worth thinking here about the decisions behind a major patch like this, which focuses almost entirely on the technical and gameplay sides of the game. There’s been no attempt to soften or explore the cyberpunk genre’s deployment of techno-orientalism in its treatment of Asian culture and characters, which is a huge missed opportunity in a game that spends so much time ruminating on the mistakes of the past, and how one might repair them. A transphobic ad is still plastered across nearly every surface in the game, monopolizing vision in a way that does not even line up with real-world advertising practices. With this game’s long tail of updates, there are seemingly infinite chances to go deeper, to rethink some assumptions, and to engage with the genre at least as fully as its founding texts did. Yet none of these things were deemed patch-worthy. It is more substantive, apparently, to make sure there are new apartments and cars and guns. However, there’s no denying that the Cyberpunk 2077 last-gen updates took that version of the game from “unplayable” to “nonoptimal.” Those versions of the game are now free of their biggest technical problems and now run well enough to be considered functional in the minds of many. That’s obviously not a rave review, but anyone looking to play the game on those devices for whatever reason will find that this is the best that experience is ever going to get. Again, I mean that literally. CD Projekt Red has released the last PS4/Xbox One update they currently intend to release for the game, so unless they surprise everyone with additional last-gen patches, the current PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are as “fixed” as they’re ever going to be. To get started making Cyberpunk 2077perform that extra bit better, load up the game’s main menu. From here enter Settingsand tab over to the Graphicstab using your bumpers. Here we are given five different options to play with: Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, Depth of Field, Lens Flare, and Motion Blur. To get to this location, start from the Batty's Hotel fast travel point in Pacifica (it's located right near the Chapel fast travel point on its western side).

What if you’ve already beaten Cyberpunk 2077, though? Is it worth playing the game again just to experience the new content? Well…probably not. I think that all of the little changes add up to offer a pretty good excuse for a second playthrough if you were already thinking about doing one, but you’re ultimately talking about a small army of little things.

Experience new and overhauled gameplay mechanics to fulfill your wildest cyberpunk fantasies. The free Update 2.0 brings brand new ways to play Cyberpunk 2077, including totally redesigned perks and cyberware systems, pulsating vehicle combat and car chases, a revamped police system, enhanced enemy combat AI, and more. Cyberpunk 2077 will come with a day one patch that offers several next-gen improvements to the Xbox One version when played on the Xbox Series X system. The exact details haven't been shared, but are likely to include improved load times, frame rate, and visuals. Xbox One X Enhanced: Enhanced features for Xbox One X subject to release of a content update. Games information at xbox.com/enhanced.

We also have the much-requested 60FPS performance mode coming to Xbox Series S consoles. This was something players have been asking about since our new-gen update, and it’s great to say that we have put the work in to make sure this feature is now available. In this mode, the game aims for 60FPS at 900p with dynamic resolution scaling in the 800-1080p range. Then, travel to this location in Santo Domingo, a gas station with a homeless encampment. If the Space Oddity mission marker pops up, you know you’ve found the right one. As for Xbox Series S…well, don’t expect much. That version of the game is clearly better than the PS4/Xbox One versions and clearly inferior to the PS5/Xbox Series X versions. I suppose that’s about what you’d expect from that hardware, but you get the sense that CD Projekt Red could have done more with that platform if they had a more technically solid foundation to work off of.Still, it’s a perfectly acceptable middle-of-the-road option. In February 2022, CD Projekt released a substantial patch, version 1.5, for Cyberpunk 2077. It contains a large number of tweaks and fixes, some new content, and native support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Reading the patch notes is a lengthy time commitment, but the general gist is that CD Projekt has overhauled some part of nearly every game system in Cyberpunk 2077, from combat AI, to player stat functions, to the economy, to the way that vehicles work. It is a strange marker of current video game culture that this is the thing that we most desire, since by definition the entirety of a video game environment is a technical illusion to make a player feel important. The people on the sidewalk in any given game are not there to be full people. They are there to give context, and a certain aesthetic feeling, to a player speeding by them in a souped-up future car. If there is a key maneuver in patch 1.5, it is that these fantasies seem to be fulfilled. NPCs interact minimally with their environment, and they panic when gunfire starts nearby. They behave “realistically,” and like most of the non-player content in the game, seem to be a drastic leap forward from the videos you might remember from the disturbingly gleeful “ look at this shit” responses that highlighted technical problems in 2020.

As of now, the details for what is in this eventual patch are unclear, as is the date and the steps players will need to take.

Enter the massive open world of Night City, a megalopolis that sets new standards in terms of visuals, complexity and depth. A lot of buzz has been growing around the internet concerning how Cyberpunk 2077runs on the Xbox One and PS4 generation consoles. The developers clearly targeted high performing PCs when designing the game, and even those players are having some issues running the game well. The Series X does help out a bit, but considering the game isn’t yet optimized for next-generation consoles, the experience isn’t as good there as one would hope either. Still, if you were looking forward to playing Cyberpunk 2077on your base Xbox One, the experience is likely disappointing. Obviously, consoles are not as customizable as PCs, but there are still a few settings you can tweak to squeeze out the best possible performance while we wait for the developers to come out with some patches. Here are the settings that will give you the best performance boost. See More However, I’d argue that enough is new or “different” about the game to justify taking another look at it if you mostly liked the base experience or decided to put it away until a few more things became available. Get to the Point: Is Cyberpunk 2077 Worth Playing in 2022? Next, you want to have Chromatic Aberrationset to on. This is more of a stylistic choice than one that impacts performance, so if you dislike the effect you can certainly turn it off. What it does is create those rainbow-looking lighting effects on light sources. Since Night City is full of bright neon signs, and the cyberpunk genre is somewhat known for this visual style, we think it lends to the visuals rather than take anything away.
