Cut to the smoke was started from a longstanding love of the outdoor cooking and sharing this with friends. This overproof expression is made with the same spirits and all-natural ingredients as the Cut Rum distillery’s classic Spiced Rum but is bottled at a powerful 75.5%. The rum, originating from Worthy Park Estate in Jamaica, is produced with copper stills made by Forsyth’s Still Makers in Speyside. This Smoked Rum uses the smoke from new American oak chips to release a sweet smokiness. Having used many off the shelf products, we were disappointed that many were heavy in low-cost ingredients including salt and raw cane sugar and when it came to chilli’s we found that all they bought to the dry rubs were a little heat. Made with premium Jamaican rum from the esteemed Worthy Park Estate, this spirit is infused with Arabica coffee beans and smoked over oak wood chips before maturing for up to 3 years in oak barrels.
