For children 15+ and adults: 15g to 22.5g (≈ 1 tablespoon or 1–1.5 sachet) diluted in 200 ml of water 3 times a day. I have been using Enterosgel for about 6 months but as it has not been a miracle cure for IBS symptoms, I have not as yet reviewed the product, allowing myself time to adjust dosage and use. While not as completely life changing as some users find, it has made a real difference to my daily life. I still have to make a few trips to the loo first thing in the day and get some bloating but things are much improved compared to before. I now take approx 20g early morning. I can go out and about much more confidently whereas before I worried prior to every outing. Funding The authors have not declared a specific grant for this research from any funding agency in the public, commercial or not-for-profit sectors.participants from the study also took part in an interactive webinar where they learnt about the study results and could ask the study team any questions. This product seems to be working for my post-infective IBS-C, despite the indications for its use in IBS-D. Pain and bloating improved as well as a return to normal bowel function. Had tried all allopathic treatments over the past seven years, including other alternative ones, to no avail, until now.Very grateful to the director of research for her very useful advice and support. Analyses were performed using SPSS V.25 and STATA/SE V.14.0. The baseline characteristics of the groups were summarised as mean (SD) and median (IQR) by trial arm.

I’ve heard people take this once or twice a day, what would be the best time to take this if only taking once or twice? The Enterosgel group had a higher percentage of patients (49%) with an improvement in their stool consistency compared to the placebo group (33%). Do not exceed the recommended duration of treatment and do not take together with meal to avoid possible vitamin or nutrient deficiency. It is effective as an ALL-IN-ONE treatment for IBS diarrhoea. Enterosgel has been available in Europe as an over-the-counter medical device since 2011. The performance and safety have been documented through clinical studies and postmarketing safety surveillance for over 30 years. However, these studies have suffered from inherent shortcomings with regards to methodological design and reporting. Enterosgel does not contain any active pharmaceutical ingredients and can be used alongside other treatments. It is recommended to take Enterosgel 2 hours before or after taking other medications. However, do not take Enterosgel if you are currently taking modified-released orally administrated medications.

After 8 weeks all patients knew they then received Enterosgel in this Open label phase and reported the same things for another 8 weeks. This study had limitations namely that the median duration of diarrhoea prior to randomisation was 86 hours (min–max: 7–690) as there was no upper limit in the exclusion criteria. The Department of Health guidance for adults with acute diarrhoea is to only visit their GP if they have diarrhoea for more than 7 days. The delay could have impacted on the measured efficacy of the treatment. The secondary outcome diarrhoea duration until the last liquid stool was only available for those patients who had a liquid stool after randomisation and resulted in an underpowered sample size, which may have contributed to the non-significance. These may have been avoided by capturing patients at an earlier stage; for example, from pharmacies, before patients made an appointment with their GP. This study was not placebo-controlled, although it was compared with current recommended standard of care, which can be justified for studies wanting to provide evidence of improved efficacy of a new therapy over an existing therapy. 22 Moreover, outcomes were standardised to minimise any bias and based on patient-reported outcomes. Do not use ENTEROSGEL® within 2 hours before or after taking oral medication. ENTEROSGEL® may affect the absorption of some medicines that are administered orally. If you are taking any medication, you may wish to consult with your doctor or pharmacist regarding taking ENTEROSGEL®. Please, consult your doctor if you are currently taking other intestinal adsorbents, for example treatments which contain activated charcoal, clay, kaolin. Your doctor may advise not to use them together with Enterosgel treatment.

IBS – Enterosgel can normalise stool frequency and provide relief from constipation, one of the issues associated with irritable bowel symptom. The Microflora is paramount when it comes to gut health and Enterosgel helps to regulate and protect it. My only criticism is the timings around taking it, 2 hours before or after meals is difficult and i have to plan meals around this. I’m having to wake up at 6:30am to take this so I can have breakfast a decent time and then I can take my third dosage around 3pm to be able to have dinner at decent time and go out after.
