About this deal

While you won’t receive input from both devices at the same time, you’ll be able to seamlessly transition from one device to the other. When it comes to charging up the headphones, that is done over a micro-USB connection and will take around two hours. It's a very likable sports headphone, particularly for people who want a secure fitting headphone that doesn't cover or prod their ears.

The Shokz OpenMove is a great-sounding Bluetooth bone-conduction headset that allows you to work out with music while remaining aware of your environment. We’re not knocking the Air too hard as this kind of sound profile is emblematic of bone conduction headphones at large. AfterShokz Aeropex headphones are equipped with eight hours of continuous battery life, which means you can warm up and run your race without worrying about needing a quick charge. The AfterShokz Air stood out when it was released, but there’s stiff competition from the company’s more modern offerings. Standby time is also good—AfterShokz claims up to 20 days of standby time, which again seems a bit conservative. When you think of headphones for sports and exercise, maybe you think of a lightweight pair of headphones or some sport-focused earbuds with over-ear hooks such as Powerbeats Pro . It’s a shame to see that there is no fast-charging capability or USB Type-C connectivity on these headphones, although that could be added in a future revision if AfterShokz updates the headphones. get out of my ears, charles — Bone-conduction headphones: Long-term test and review of AfterShokz After four months of testing, we love these for podcasts—not so much for music. The Shokz Trekz Titanium (released back in 2017) came with an optional rubber band to secure the headset firmly against your head, but this wasn't really necessary and was abandoned for later releases, including the OpenMove.

But the majority of people probably aren't going to bother with the earplugs when they use this headphone. Aeropex headphones also feature a redesigned transducer for minimized vibrations and a more snug fit. The cymbal shimmer and horns come through clearly, but things take a downturn after the first few lines of the verse at 0:30. A rubberized coating makes the AfterShokz Air easy to grip, and it comes in four colors (Canyon Red, Midnight Blue, Forest Green, and Slate Gray). Normally it’d be disappointing to see a headset without any high-quality Bluetooth codecs, but it makes perfect sense with bone conduction headphones.

If you plan on being in some wicked elements and coming in contact with water, we recommend getting a pair of Aeropex instead.
