About this deal

It’s at the western end of the Gower Peninsula, with views to Pembrokeshire in the west and out to Lundy Island to the south-west in the Bristol Channel. Llangennith beach is situated on the western edge of the Gower Peninsula. It is dog and family-friendly and great for watersports, once again with parking and refreshments. The Gower is a popular destination for walkers, cyclists, and surfers, and its stunning scenery has been featured in films and television shows such as "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher." Beyond the beaches there are a number of well-marked walking and cycling trails including the Gower Coast Path, the Three Cliffs Way, and the Bishopston Valley Trail.

As an Anglo-Norman peninsula isolated from its Welsh hinterland but with coastal links to other parts of south Wales and southwest England, it developed its own Gower dialect of English. It’s the mecca of Gower surfing, and conditions are better there than at Rhossili because this section of the beach is more exposed to prevailing south-westerlies, which help generate bigger waves.The upshot of that is always fairly quiet, often deserted in the autumn and winter off-season. The Tor after which it’s named is the headland on the east side of the beach.
