This year’s Pride Parade is the first in the city for nearly a decade and is an event that is open for everyone to come together to celebrate, to learn about and to support LGBTQ+ inclusion within Wolverhampton. Wolves staff and supporters will be taking part in the procession around the city centre, while our very own Wolfie & Wendy will be supporting the festival plaza launch. It’s been nearly 25 years since June was first declared as Pride Month by President Bill Clinton in 1999. Along with federal recognition, over the years brands have incorporated lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer messaging in products and campaigns as a way to celebrate the community’s ongoing advancements toward equality, protections and inclusion. We also love to see brands that not only put their money where their mouth is, but support the work of LGBTQ artists. Casetify’s Pride Collection features designs from LGBTQ artists who use their platform to uplift the voices of other LGBTQ creatives. LGBTQIA+ community impact: Mavi will donate 100 percent of net proceeds from the tote to the Ali Forney Center, an organization that supports LGBTQIA+ homeless youth.

LGBTQIA+ community impact: A portion of the proceeds from the collection’s sales go to the TransLatin@ Coalition, which supports Transgender, Gender nonconforming and Intersex individuals in the United States. LGBTQIA+ community impact: Blundstone has made monetary donations toQueer|Art— a nonprofit benefitting LGBTQIA+ artists. The brand has also donated to the surfing collective Benny’s Club, which is dedicated toward a safe surfing haven for queer youth and people of color. DKNY’s 2023 Pride collection features a selection of graphic tops and bottoms with the brand’s logo in colorful rainbow hues. LGBTQIA+ community impact: 100 percent of the profits from the sale of the Modern Rainbow print items, including the new romper, go to Ferguson’s nonprofit pronoun.org in support of organizations fighting daily for equality for all. LGBTQIA+ community impact: A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pacific Pride Foundation. PPF provides community and personal wellness resources for LGBTQIA+ individuals, including counseling, therapy and STI testing.

The organization works to stop discrimination, harassment, and bullying due to sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression for young people. Returning bigger and better than ever, Wolverhampton Pride will feature a Pride Parade starting at 12pm from Victoria Street, followed by a main stage at the festival plaza in Old Market Square with live music, drag artists and DJs – including Scott Mills, The Fizz and Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK contestant Baga Chipz – along with plenty of community stalls. LGBTQIA+ community impact: 100 percent of the profits will be donated between three organizations: The Out Foundation (a non-profit providing inclusive fitness and wellness spaces) Out & Equal (a global non-profit that helps enhance LGBTQIA+ workplace equality), and San Diego Pride. Additionally, Athletic Brewing is sponsoring San Diego Pride. LGBTQIA+ community impact: The brand will make a contribution to Rainbow Railroad, which ensures the safety of LGBTQIA+ people escaping harmful situations. Betsey Johnson continues its partnership helping LGBTQAI+ youths with Miley Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation with a campaign featuring queer influencers such as Aquaria, Desmond is Amazing, Catherine, Vanjie, Kandy Muse, Harper Watters, and Lizzette.
