About this deal

This isn’t too much of a problem with these earbuds as quite a bit of it is covered up with the AirWings, but it is something to consider. The earbuds definitely have a warmer and bass focused sound profile, but this does not hinder the clarity of the highs and treble – it all sounds fairly well balanced.

But still, if there is no problem in the cold season to throw a case into a jacket pocket, then there will be problems with summer clothes. Add here the declared waterproof IPX5 (against rain and sweat), and we get an excellent model for sports. Zero-Pressure AirWings: Our hollow AirWings have a flexible, soft silicone build that partially deflates to conform to the shape and size of your ears for a secure fit with unmatched comfort. Despite the emphasis on bass, it still sounds well controlled and does not sound bad and provides a deep low-end listening experience to tracks that make use of it.

The Life Dot 2 are extremely lightweight, featuring a glossy black plastic build and rubber ear tips and ear fins, dubbed AirWings, to help the earbuds sit securely in the ear, particularly during exercise and sports. Extreme 100-Hour Playtime: The charging case has 4× the battery capacity of other cases’—allowing you to extend the earbuds’ 8-hour playtime over and over.

If I were now choosing budgetary completely wireless headphones for myself, then it is very likely that I would have chosen these. The pairing process is extremely simple: we take the headphones out of the case and find them in the list of available Bluetooth devices on your phone, player, or computer. Pressing is light but perceptible: you always understand whether you pressed a button, but you don’t need to “hammer” the headphones into your ears. Superior Balanced Sound:Life Dot 2 true wireless earbuds have 8mm triple-layer dynamic drivers to deliver 40% more bass and 100% more treble for rich, expertly balanced sound.

Vocals in songs sound clear and well pronounced, I did notice a little bit of sibilance here and there, but overall vocals sounded clear and well balanced although depending on the production of a track they can sometimes be overtaken by bass synthesisers and drum kicks due to the emphasis on the low end. Stereo separation within the earbuds is also good, each audio channel is identifiable and tracks that make use of stereo panning sound immersive and provide an up-close listening experience. It also comes with 5 sizes of ear tips and 3 sizes of AirWings so that you can customize your headset according to your needs. I got these things out of the box and charged them fully and it took them a good month of constant use while riding and they just now have low battery. I’m not sure why this is the case as these would be great features to have and I’d definitely like to see these earbuds integrate with the Soundcore app in the future.

Headphones are prone to sibilance (hissing and whistling sounds are overly accentuated), cymbals, and other metal instruments are often “sandy” or harsh. Both are bass boosted, but to my ears, the bass boost of the Dot 2s is mostly in the lower frequencies, which is great IMO for normal listening, since then the boosted bass doesn't tend to overpower the rest of the frequency spectrum. The volume offered by the earbuds is also very good and they could get loud if you want them to, I found my comfortable listening volume to be around 50%. Of course, I’d prefer less glossy plastic, but the design is most importantly comfortable to wear and easy and straightforward to get a secure fit. Unfortunately, unlike many of Soundcore’s other products, the Life Dot 2 don’t connect to their mobile app, so elements like the EQ and multi-function button configuration can’t be changed. All accessories are neatly laid out, and there is a piece of paper with the question “how do we sound? The earbuds have physical button controls on each earbud, this button has a matte finish which makes it easily distinguishable as it has a different texture and feel to the rest of the earbuds.
