However, Hoover does a good job of managing the tone of the novel so that it feels emotional, but not too weighed down. I couldn't help my anger and frustration over her being closed off and pushed away without any chance at redemption or chance at showing her true character. In Reminders of Him, Kenna has recently gotten out of prison for a drunk driving accident that resulted in her boyfriend Scotty’s death. Supporting Characters: "Reminders of Him" introduces various supporting characters who impact Kenna's journey and contribute to the narrative's depth.

As long as Kenna was present in her hometown, she was watched by Dim’s grandparents and it became very complicated for Kenna to meet her daughter because their grandparents didn’t want Kenna hanging around Dim.
