About this deal

If you don’t like fantasy, it’s the character drama that makes this series great. The heroes are deeply flawed. Most of the villains have a redeeming quality or two, or at least the odd empathetic moment. All of the characters are dimensional and complex. And over the course of the series, each grows and changes in unexpected ways. What’s more, this is very much an ensemble cast. Initially, the company includes Sean Bean ( The Lord of the Rings), Mark Addy ( The Full Monty), Lena Headey ( Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Emilia Clarke ( Solo), Kit Harington ( Spooks aka MI5), Peter Dinklage ( The Station Agent), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ( Nightwatch), Charles Dance ( Alien 3), and many more. New cast members are added each season, among them Gwendoline Christie ( Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Aidan Gillen ( The Wire), Jason Momoa ( Aquaman), Stephen Dillane ( John Adams), and Diana Rigg ( The Avengers).

Below are the links for the individual seasons for those wanting a more elaborate review of the story in each season. Game of Thrones is a story of duplicity and treachery, nobility and honor, conquest and triumph. In this game, you either win or you die.wintry scenes in particular look slightly cooler now, and there are some beautiful orange-amber highlights to some of the almost sepia toned The first thing to say here is that if you want to take advantage of the Dolby Atmos mix created for both the HD and 4K Blu-rays, you need to select it from the disc’s menus. Otherwise the mix defaults to the ‘original’ broadcast Dolby Digital 5.1 mix. Conclusion

First, there was an HBO Shop exclusive version of Season One on DVD that included a special DVD bonus disc with a Creating the World of Westeros featurette. Second, the Season Two Blu-ray available at Target had a bonus disc that added Invitation to the Set, Arya’s New Look, Art Direction, and Weapons featurettes. Third, the Season Three Blu-ray was available at Target with a bonus disc that included a 90-minute An Evening with Game of Thrones 2013 Emmy panel discussion. Finally, Season Eight was available on Blu-ray at Target and Walmart with exclusive bonus discs that added How the Storm Was Born and From Renderings to Reality: The Visual Effects of Season 8 respectively. It’s a shame that this content isn’t included on the 4K set, but you should be aware that most of it is available for free viewing on YouTube (at least some of it—and actually quite a lot more—on HBO’s official Game of Thrones channel). And though it’s not a bonus disc, don’t forget that HBO made a change to Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season after eagle-eyed fans detected the likeness of a certain political figure as one of the severed heads in the season’s final episode. So if you want that scene as originally broadcast, you’ll want to hang onto that first Blu-ray set in particular. Note: Rather than re-list every supplement with timings and descriptions in this review, I'm opting to simply provide a basic Byzantine and ornate costumes look fantastic throughout, especially (again) in the later seasons, where some of the intricate designs and even Game of Thrones: Reunion Special (HD) – This is a two-part reunion show (57:01 and 42:21 runtimes) that was shot live in Belfast with the cast, both past and present, hosted by Conan O’Brien and was made available exclusively on the complete series collections last year on Blu-ray. The reunion special is assembled in segments focused on Houses Lannister, Stark, & Targaryen and concludes with the key players all onstage for their final reflections on the years they shared in Westeros and Essos. I personally can’t think of a more perfect way to cap off the completion of watching all the seasons across these discs.

Game of Thrones on Ultra HD Blu-ray is presented in 2160p at 1.78:1 (16×9) widescreen aspect ratio. The video is further enhanced with Dolby Vision & HDR10 providing up to 10-bits of color instead of 1080p Blu-ray’s 8-bit depth. The HEVC video on the UHD BD streamed from 25Mbps – 65Mbps in 4k/24p with HDR via the BT.2020 spec. Season 8 of Game of Thrones on 4k Blu-ray may not have the same gravity as Season 1, but there is no denying its superiority in digital effects. And, even though the season has more holes than Dany’s entire fleet of sunken ships, it’s still entertaining. Blu-rays and 4k Blu-rays are supposed to be free of banding, right? Well, that’s what we were hoping with this newly-released 4k Blu-ray print of GOT S8. Let’s take a look at the video and audio specs and make some suggestions on how to watch this season on your 4k TV. By the way, Game of Thrones is only available on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc in 4k. You can’t get digital versions of the episodes in the higher resolution, only up to 1080p HD. slump" that many shows seems to suffer, may have ultimately fallen prey to an analogous syndrome in the annals of series television, the "final armies of the living and dead. That may not sound like a lot of material, but as anyone who has watched even an isolated episode or two

Dialogue Reproduction: Dialog levels are always loud, clear, intelligible and prioritized throughout the entire complete series here. You should have no problem hearing Hodor tell you to do something with something. Anatomy of an Episode - an in-episode experience that explores the creative minds and colossal efforts behind episode six, "A Golden Crown." Game of Thrones: The Complete Eighth Season is presented in 4K UHD courtesy of HBO with a 2160p transfer in 1.78:1. As I indicated in Cersei doesn't get the sort of send off she deserves in Season 8.
