The fish preset uses both the steam and air fry cooking modes, so I gave it a go with a couple of salmon fillets. It wasn’t entirely clear whether it was steaming or air frying first or whether it was doing both in combination. So I didn’t mess with any of the settings. I simply added the salmon skin side down – again, this was a guess as I wasn’t sure which way up to put it - and started the fish preset. Basket style with heating elements: tall, slim air-fryers feature a main unit with heating elements and fans. These have slide-out baskets or trays that slot into place inside. As they tend to have a smaller cooking area than oven-style fryers, in testing we found even results were more likely if the cooking was paused occasionally to rearrange or toss the food around. The Dual Zone’s Max Crisp function is also worth shouting about, as it cooks thinner frozen foods such as chips, onions rings, and nuggets in a fraction of the time it would take a standard convection oven. During testing, one portion of frozen potato lattices came out perfectly crisp and golden in just six minutes, compared to the recommended 15-minute oven cooking time stated on the bag. This air fryer can also bake, roast, dehydrate, and reheat, making it a versatile tabletop multi cooker.
