About this deal

And now, dear readers, it’s time to compare the Compex models. Which stimulator am I interested in? Which are wired and which are wireless? How many programs does each stimulator have? What are the differences between the SP (sport) and FIT (fitness) ranges? My name is Juan Peris, I am a specialist in electro-stimulation and I am responsible for Myox.fit. I’m going to offer you my expert opinion: For other types of programmes like recovery, massage, capillarisation or even muscle pain which only induce muscle twitches, you should gradually increase the stimulation intensities until clearly visible muscle twitches are obtained.

optimizes session effectiveness by combining voluntary contractions with electrostimulated contractions, giving you total control over your workout. As a sports line equipment, I would like to highlight the programs that it has in the Physical preparation category: I would like to point out that the programs of the Compex SP 6.0 ( 30 programs) are the same as the Compex SP4.0. Well, first I will present the models of each range, the COMPEX FIT RANGE has three models: COMPEX FIT 1.0, COMPEX FIT 3.0 and COMPEX FIT 5.0; and the COMPEX SP range has five models: COMPEX SP 2.0, COMPEX SP 4.0, COMPEX SP 6.0, COMPEX SP 8.0 and COMPEX SP 8.0 WOD EDITION. All this makes the Compex Fit 3.0 an optimal electric muscle stimulator for the users that are satisfied with toning their muscles or using it for aesthetic purposes and also, those who may need to relieve the most common pains or who suffer some injury without too much importance. The COMPEX SP 2.0 is the simplest electric muscle stimulator of the SP range of Compex. It is a device with 4 channels, connected through wires and includes a total of 20 programs . As the lowest equipment in the range, it only counts within the MI (Muscle-Intelligence) functions, with the * MI-Scan function. The other major advantage of the Compex is that I can fit it around my hectic life. In the busy schedule of a Dad/Husband/Fireman/Elite Athlete recovery is usually the first thing to go out the window when time runs out, but with the Compex I have found I can achieve some effective training recovery after everything is done while I watch TV and relax at night or during my lunch break at work. It also includes a very complete Recovery / Massage category, with really important programs: Recovery training • Post-competition recovery • Relaxing massage • Stretch reduction • Regenerative massage. COMPEX SP 8.0 is the most complete muscle electrostimulation equipment of the Compex range. It is a wireless device with 4 channels and a total of 40 programs. It also has all the functions of Compex’s MI Technology (Muscle-Intelligence): * Mi-Scan, * Mi-Action, * Mi-TENS, * MI-Autorange. Domestic Products: 2 years labour, 3 years electrical parts, 5 years motor and a lifetime in the structure

This gadget has 30 programs , among which the l ymphatic drainage should be noted as a point in favor, as in the previous model Compex Fit 3.0. In cases where up to six sessions a week are planned, it is recommended that the sessions be scheduled as far apart as possible. For example, anyone who does three sessions a week should do them at the rate of one session every two days (2x1 rest day and 1x2 days of rest/week). Anyone who does six sessions should do six consecutive days of stimulation with one day of rest. Reduction in lactic acid by 25% (Warren CD, Brown LE, Landers MR, Stahura KA – Strength Cond Res. 2011) For the Recovery and Rehabilitation programs (as described above) the focus is on more gentle contractions or tingling (Tens) style stimulation compared to the intense deep contractions of strength training, as such its little surprise that most of these programs feel really nice when applied to the muscles. For the other types of programmes which do not induce powerful muscular contractions but only muscular twitches or tingling, position yourself as shown on the illustration, maintaining a comfortable position. Adjusting stimulation intensitiesThe COMPEX FIT 1.0 is a gadget with 4 channels and only 10 programs , 8 of them aimed at muscle toning, 1 pain management, and 1 massage . Therefore, this is a device that may interest no professional people who are looking for a basic experience with muscle electrostimulation : some basic toning and with a massage program and TENS, a symptomatic treatment of pain. As for its Fitness category, the programs are aimed at toning and some at increasing muscle mass, but if you are an athlete, you better decide on the Compex SP range, since it has the most classic and demanding programs of sports performance. When voluntary training and stimulation are done during the same session, it is generally recommended that the voluntary training be done first followed by the stimulation. This means that the voluntary training is not done on muscle fibres which are already tired. This is particularly important for strength and explosive strength training. Compex claims that the benefits of these programs include (when compared to traditional training alone):

MI – Range scans and indicates the optimum range of stimulation while MI – Tens used during a Tens (pain relief) program automatically decreases the intensity if a muscle contraction is created. It has 7 programs in the Physical Preparation category, 3 in the Recovery/massage category, 6 in the pain management category and 4 in the fitness category. Personally, I have used the programs: Training Recovery; Heavy Legs; and Reduce Muscle Soreness. All have aided recovery after a hard training session in preparation for the next day. I noticed that my legs felt looser and peppier the next day, more so than they usually would. While I am yet to really test the effectiveness of the Cramp Prevention program (as I haven’t raced recently) this program is one of the most interesting, as cramp effects many runners.

And among its 9 programs in the Fitness category, we also highlight the lymphatic drainage program as a strong point in the Compex Fit 3.0. This position varies according to the muscle group that you wish to stimulate and the programme that you are using.
