About this deal

This is a rose that needs the spotlight, it is gorgeous and showy so plant it where it can be seen. It would look good planted with white roses or associating with striped roses such as Rosa Mundi or Ferdinand Pichard making a quite spectacular grouping. It also looks lovely underplanted with blue or white perennials which offset the rich cherry red. It makes an excellent cutting rose, is useful in a pot or as a low growing, richly coloured hedge. Once you have removed all of the guard petals from your rose bouquet, you can choose what you wish to do with them. You can set them aside, allow them to dry out and make potpourri or you can discard them if you do not have any use for them. Rather than throwing away, however, you could add to your garden compost heap. Puff them up

Spraying this on roses also removes bugs, fungal spores, dust and grease from the plant, preventing pests from laying eggs and allowing maximum light exposure for photosynthesis. Spray directly onto the plant making sure a good coverage is applied to both upper and lower leaf surface. After removing your guard petals, you can take another step to make your bouquet looks its best. You can use your finger tips to very gently tease the petals. With just a tiny bit of pressure, you can encourage the petals to puff outwards. Use all year round, indoors and out. When applied on edibles there is no harvest interval – just wash before eating. Growing Success Rose Guard should be used preventatively or at first sign of infestation. Rose Gaujard is a really stunning rose being cherry red with a silver reverse to each petal giving a spectacular overall effect. The urn-shaped blooms are large and sometimes open split or quartered and are very well contrasted by glossy, strong and dark green foliage. The perfume is slight but sweet and the whole plant is strong and healthy. It will tolerate very light shade but prefers full sun and it will flower very reliably from June until September, growing to an eventual height of 4ft. For other lovely hybrid tea roses or for roses to plant with Rose Gaujard please look here. The first thing you need to do is identify the guard petals. You should find them easy to spot since they will not look as fresh and beautiful as the interior petals. Take your time inspecting each bloom in your rose bouquet, one at a time. Peel away gently Suitable for use outdoors or under glass, this spray is organic and pesticide free making it bee friendly and ideal for use in busy family gardens. How to Use

Vitax Rose Guard is a ready to use organic spray that protects roses from common bugs and diseases. If you are wondering why your florist does not remove the guard petals for you, the simple answer is to keep your rose bouquet intact. These petals protect the more delicate petals inside but, if they are not removed, they can also prevent the flower from opening up. So, as soon as your bouquet is delivered, you need to carefully remove them. Identify the guard petals
