About this deal

If you don’t have a lot of trees and other obstructions around your house, you might be able to get away with mounting the Starlink dish on a pole or post in your yard. Pole Mount’s can also be a great option if you have an open area near your house that doesn’t have as much tree coverage.

Starlink Satellite Internet on 12 Volt DC How To Power Starlink Satellite Internet on 12 Volt DC

Why won’t we use factory Starlink mounts for your Starlink installation in Montana? October 23, 2023 No Comments I would install a central network cabinet somewhere in the house, and route the Starlink cable there, with the Starlink router and Ethernet Adapter also inside the cabinet. From the Ethernet Adapter, connect to a network switch. All your devices can also be run down to this switch. A 3rd party router or mesh system is recommended for more advanced networking settings, but the Starlink router will be fine for most applications. Reply Yes, you can add a switch connected to the Ethernet Adapter. Any Wifi router would work at the house. You could set it up in access point/bridge mode to maintain connectivity to your entire Starlink network, or have it on it’s own DCHP and routing. Reply I ask, because everything before, I have been using the pinout from the two equip/detailed spread diagrams. And those pinouts are different than the TYCON POE pinout.I’m not sure I understand exactly what you’re thinking. The POE injector is applying power to one of the wires in the ethernet cable. The POE injector itself does not have power which is why you have to also supply power to the POE injector. So that solves getting the power within the ethernet cable that is needed to power the dish. Separately a suggestion for anyone putting a RJ45 on the really thin wires of the cable. If you spend some time trying to put the 8 wires into a RJ45 pass-thru, you soon learn they won’t stay put. They won’t stay where you need them to clamp them down. Don’t.

Once you replace the Starlink connection on the ethernet adapter with the swapped connector you just simply plug the Starlink connector from the dish to the ethernet adapter.

What would you recommend for fixing my starlink to a mobile home? There are no obstructions, but I am in a very windy area. The Tripod Mount pictured above comes included with a mast that will accept the Starlink dish mast with a bit of modification (using pole clamps or drilling holes for bolts). You can also supply your own mast of any length you require, up to 2 inches outside diameter. If you look at the pinouts for the PoE connectors, you’ll notice that there are no signal pins separate from power pins. (If there were, you might in principle be able to wire the 48VDC supply directly to the power pins and passthrough the signal pins.) I would factory reset the Starlink router. With the Gen 1 router, there is a reset button to press with a paperclip or something small. Then you can set up your Wifi network again. Reply
