He-Man was characterized as possessing super speed, heightened agility, superhuman strength, increased stamina and endurance. The differences between Prince Adam and He-Man were minimal; He-Man had a slightly deeper voice, a different wardrobe, and slightly darker skin and hair. Although initially announced as a direct sequel to the 1983 TV series, director Kevin Smith later admitted the series is not set in the same continuity as the original, but described it as a 'spiritual sequel' to the Filmation series. Skeletor traveled to the future, joining forces with the Evil Mutants of Denebria and their leader, Flogg. Its capital city is Eternos where Prince Adam and the Royal Family reside, and the planet is notably the location of Castle Grayskull. In the Mini-Comics which came packaged with the toyline, Skeletor was forced to undergo cybernetic enhancements after he was gravely injured after witnessing He-Man's transformation. He soon made an enemy of He-Man and set his sights on the seemingly innocuous Castle Grayskull, believing, correctly, that that was where the Elders' power now resided. In both versions of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Eternia has a Light Hemisphere where the forces of good live freely, and a Dark Hemisphere dominated by the forces of evil.
