This is the Waterloo period Coattee for the 60th Rifles, this one was made for The Royal Greenjackets Regimental Museum but we also make many of these for re-enactors and collectors all over the world. It is illustrated with more than two hundred full-colour plates of the uniforms and every aspect of their regimental distinctions. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. None the less with it's background information leading into the Napoleonic period, this is a very good book to read.

It is an expert guide to the weapons, equipment, deployment, tactics and motivation of the national forces of the day, as well as fascinating detail of the day-to-day life of a Napoleonic soldier. You will receive a large amount of detailed information and great illustrations of British Infantry and Cavalry uniforms of the Napoleonic Period (1792-1815). Part Three discusses the uniforms and distinctions of the infantry, including the regiments of Foot Guards and Infantry of the Line (Fusiliers, Light Infantry, Riflemen and Highland Regiments). All in all it is a very good, well written piece but if you are only interested in the Napoleonic wars, this will not be so good. knapsack was made of cow hide with two straps (later three straps) to hold the rolled greatcoat on the top.

All the major nations involved in the conflict, France, Britain, Austria, Prussia and Russia, are covered in detail, and there is a section on the uniforms and contributions of the smaller forces, including those from America, Spain, Italy and Saxony. While headgear and details in cut changed, the uniform remained almost completely the same from the beginning of the French Revolution. Usually, this uniform consisted of a short jacket known as a dolman, or later a medium-length atilla jacket, both with heavy, horizontal gold braid ( sujtás) on the breast and yellow braided or gold Austrian knots ( vitézkötés) on the sleeves, a matching pelisse (a short-waisted over-jacket often worn slung over one shoulder), coloured trousers, sometimes with yellow braided or gold Austrian knots at the front, a busby ( kucsma) (a high, fur hat with a cloth bag hanging from one side, although some regiments wore the shako ( csákó) of various styles), and high riding boots (often Hessian boots).Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. Before 1810, the trumpeters of the 1st and 4th trumpeters had a white helmet mane, a red plume, a red coatee, red collar and cuffs edged silver, white turnbacks with red grenades, seven laces on the chests, and red epaulettes. Instead, pompoms coloured red, sky blue, orange, and violet were issued for the first company of each squadron. The cuirass had front and back plates made of polished steel and had leather straps with brass scales, brass studs and fittings and the cuirass lining was edged with white in all regiments.
