About this deal

An award-winning Scots spirits business are continuing to grow their portfolio announcing the launch of Wildcat Gin. Delving into the history of gin, one cannot overlook the mysterious tales, and central to many of those is the legend of 'Old Tom.' Wildcat Gins stands as a tribute to this intriguing history, with a nod to Captain Dudley Bradstreet, the elusive figure who is believed to have played a crucial role in the 'Old Tom' saga. Some flavours are better suited at certain times of the year, so as we’re in the midst of Summer we’ve put together a list of 6 delicious fruity flavoured gins that are perfect for the occasion.

Described as a “queer-community-focussed fund and resource”, the fund exists to give LGBTQ+ artists and visionaries the opportunity to create and generate some much-needed income.[/bg_collapse]

Produced in the heart of the Lake District, by The Lakes Distillery, this gin is created using the Classic Lakes Gin at its base with the addition of zesty pink grapefruit. It is gently distilled in a traditional copper pot still and is made with the purest water from the Lake District National Park. With funds donated, Pink Noise plan to commission new creative work in a variety of mediums, to reflect the diversity of talent throughout the community – including film, journalism, digital, art, theatre, live performances and many more. To celebrate the launch of Wildcat Passion, Wildcat Gin is giving a bottle of its new zesty flavour to the first 500 people who donate to Sink The Pink’s Pink Noise project – a trust dedicated to funding LGBTQ+ creatives hit with the ongoing impact of COVID-19. Wildcat Gin is giving away 500 bottles of its new flavour to people who donate to Sink The Pink’s LGBTQ+ arts fund. In August, the Glasgow based business launched a new Blended Scotch Whisky, named The Woodsman, with a pop-up tipi bar at the Edinburgh Festival.

But the addition of Cat’s Claw botanical gives Wildcat Gin a pleasant twist, with subtle hints of citrus, white pepper and spice.Bottled at 41.5% abv, Wildcat Gin is described as a “contemporary” gin, featuring a cat’s claw root botanical that’s said to add a “whisper of spiced citrus to a classic juniper taste”. But, for many queer artists, the fund does not directly benefit them, and they’ve been left crying out for financial support. More than one hundred Pride events across the UK have been cancelled or postponed – for many performers, a vital source of income – and many self-employed artists and creatives fall outside of the government’s furlough schemes, meaning they’ve been unable to claim support for over three months. This gin has been created to work perfectly served as a spritz, but also works just as well with tonic. Made at the Southwestern Distillery in North Cornwall, this gorgeous fruit-flavoured gin is infused with a combination of blood orange, pink grapefruit, rhubarb, raspberry and gentian root giving it a distinct bitterness amongst the fruit flavours. Malfy offer a range of super-premium gins showcasing delicious citrus flavours, including this beauty which is made from the highest quality Sicilian blood oranges.

The gin is presented in a beautiful bottle decorated with Joules’ original Cambridge floral print as a reminder of their heritage. They also re-launched their Highland Single Malt Whisky, Fettercairn, with four new expressions, alongside a complete overhaul of their Jura Single Malt Brand and a full rebrand and re-launch for Tamnavulin Speyside Malt.Wildcat Gin has an ABV of 41.5% and is distilled especially for mixing, using just ten carefully-selected botanicals – including Liquorice Root, Coriander, Angelica Root and Cat’s Claw Root. It has a classic gin taste, refreshing and crisp, with a predominantly juniper aroma. The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin is recommended simply served over ice with Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water – no garnish is required. The brand therefore decided to unleash their new Wildcat Passion gin during Pride season – not only to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, but to go further and support them at a time when there is a real threat to their livelihoods. This cat-and-mouse game between law enforcement and Bradstreet gave birth to the iconic 'Old Tom' gin, named after the tomcat. Bradstreet's clandestine operations made 'Old Tom' a household name, representing a slightly sweeter style of gin compared to the London Dry gin. This gin can be enjoyed in a G&T with plenty of fresh fruit, however it also works very well in a Negroni with a bold orange flavour profile.

In celebration of their 30th anniversary last year, lifestyle brand Joules collaborated with Warner’s to create this special gin which is inspired by the British countryside. It’s full of fresh elderflower with 1/3 pure apple and pear juice. Wildcat believes our passions define who we are; allowing us to dust off the formalities of the 9 to 5 to be our true authentic selves. Whether you are a desk worker by day and a cabaret performer by night; an outspoken drag queen, or a secret singer in the shower, it’s all about you being you and taking pride in your passion. Over the course of one year the botanicals were planted, harvested and dried to create this lovely seasonal gin which is citrus led with gentle herbal notes. The botanicals include meadowsweet, elderflower, lemon balm, clover, lemon thyme and pineapple sage. It’s a vibrant gin, full of fruity goodness with sweet orange and berries, balanced out with gentle bittersweet herbal notes.
