About this deal

The Superloop is proposed to be introduced in stages. It would consist of a network of express limited-stop routes, including brand new and existing bus routes. A network of Green Line limited stop orbital routes was established by the London Transport Executive from 1953. [1] Limited stop route X26 (now Superloop route SL7) from West Croydon to Heathrow Airport is a remnant of that network. [2]

On 15 July, the first bus route to become part the network, running from Uxbridge and White City, was renumbered SL8 and rebranded as a Superloop service. From tomorrow, the timetable will be extended to provide more early morning and evening buses. Routes 123 and 158 were suspended in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic. However, following a review of both routes and demand levels on all days of the week, a night service will now run every day of the week. Buses will run every 30 minutes throughout the night, between the times of the current last and first buses, offering connections with the Night Tube service at weekends and other Night Bus services throughout the week. Both routes will continue to serve the same stops and frequencies at other times will not change Superloop". Transport for London . Retrieved 15 July 2023. Route X183 becomes route SL10 - A new potential Superloop route would operate between Harrow and North Finchley.

The Superloop brand would be designed to work with the iconic London Buses brand by using a new Roundel and bus livery to ensure clear identification of the new service, but still recognisable as part of the London Buses network. The new branding would also feature on maps, timetables and other pieces of customer information.

Transport for London (TfL) has today (Friday 28 April) revealed new maps with more detail on the future routes on the Superloop network, showing its proposed stops and how it connects to transport links, town centres and hospitals. Superloop is a partially implemented proposed express bus network in London, England. It will form part of the London Buses network and is planned to connect outer London town centres, railway stations and transport hubs. Proposals for the route mean that the X183 would run alongside part of the existing route 183 between Harrow and Hendon, and part of route 125 between Hendon and North Finchley. The X183 would run every 12 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 15 minutes during evenings and Sundays. The proposed route would allow customers using the new X183 service to connect to 38 other bus routes in the area, as well as seven rail lines. Data from an existing limited stop express service, the X140, shows that over 40 per cent of users of the route have interchanged from another bus, showing the benefits of the Hopper Fare and the desire to travel by limited-stop express services. The consultation is now open at haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/x183-superloop until 12 June. In 2018 Transport for London began a policy of reducing bus services in inner London, where there had been a drop in passenger numbers, with plans to increase services in the outer suburbs. [9] Limited stop route X140 from Harrow to Heathrow Airport was introduced in December 2019. [10] The new route was considered a success and expansion of the express bus network was included as a policy in the Bus action plan published by Transport for London in March 2022. Louise Cheeseman, Director of Buses at TfL, said:"We are very pleased to be able to offer the newly branded SL7 to our customers travelling between Heathrow and Croydon with a more frequent service. Customers should start looking out for it in their local area and the upgraded frequency will make it even easier for people to travel using public transport. Buses remain the most accessible, available and affordable form of public transport connecting outer London's network to town centres, hospitals, schools and transport hubs." The Superloop is a network of limited-stop express bus routes that circle the entire capital. These new maps reveal further detail into the potential routes of future bus routes, including:
