About this deal

Added the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9/G95SC S49CG95 as the 'Best Super Ultrawide Gaming Monitor'; added the MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED and the Corsair XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 to Notable Mentions. Hblank and Vblank are the timing parameters, obtained from a standards document or set by the manufacturer. Doubling the bandwidth of graphical interfaces and developing a maximum of 2560x1440 at 60 Hz for HD to 5120x1440 at 60 Hz

Samsung first demonstrated its 105-inch UN105S9W curved OLED TV at CES 2014. While Samsung lists the UN105S9W as a 4K UHD TV, it actually has native resolution of 5120 × 2160 (a 64∶27 or ≈21∶9 aspect ratio) which classifies it as a 5K display due to the horizontal pixel count of ≈5,000. Is it worth getting a 5K or 8K monitor?Monitors with a regular aspect ratio are generally better for design work as high-DPI modes in Windows and macOS allow for working in scaled resolutions, which lets users zoom in to manipulate images in incredible detail while rendering pin-sharp text and UI elements. However, ultra-wide monitors present an intriguing alternative that ignores pixel scaling to give professionals acres of screen space for positioning windows, stretching out video-editing timelines, and watching cinematic videos as intended. https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-NUCs/NUC-i7FNH-with-Samsung-CRG9-Monitor-5120-x-1440-resolution/m-p/677013#M67138?wapkw=5120 As long as you are sitting in front of the monitor, you won’t face any color inconsistency; however, lines will be skewed, which can be inconvenient depending on what type of content creation you do. Hi. I have the exakt same problem with my hp elitebook x360 1030 g3. My Monitor is Philips 499P9, 49" super Ultra wide screen. The best 5k monitor we've tested is the LG 40WP95C-W. It has a 5120x2160 resolution, which is otherwise known as 5k2k, and it has the same vertical resolution as a 4k monitor but has more horizontal pixels due to its wider 21:9 aspect ratio. This ultrawide screen makes seeing more of your work at once easier, as you can easily multitask with different windows open. It has high pixel density, resulting in fantastic text clarity. It also has a dedicated sRGB mode with excellent accuracy, and you'll only need to calibrate the monitor if your work requires perfect colors. In the middle of the previous decade, buyers of new Intel Core processors quite timely received the opportunity to connect the appeared 5K displays to the built-in graphics in them. https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Does-the-UHD-620-No-Longer-Support-5120-x-1440/m-p/573274#M65281 https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/HD-Graphics-520-ultrawide-monitor-compatibility/m-p/1340571#M103578High resolution is associated with memory consumption, including remembering the state of windows - in early Windows, the redrawing of windows was carried out every time by the programs themselves and it is clear how much more it is at a higher resolution of 8K. In my special corner case, I now can use 5120x1440@71,98 Hz (8bit per color) via HDMI (!) on a i5-8400 on a Gigabyte z370 Wifi mainboard, as thisboard has 2x HDMI out ports and one of those 2 HDMI out ports of the mainboard is connected to the Displayport output of the intel 630 onboard GPU via a 3rd party HDMI2.0 signal converter chip on the mainboard. I have a SAMSUNG 49” CRG9, which supports 5120 x 1440 @ 120hz. It works perfectly with on MacBook Air 2020. However, on the new Mac Mini M1 I had a hard time getting 5120x1440 @ 120hz. At first the M1 wouldn’t work with the DisplayPort to USB-C cable, even after updating to Big Sur 11.0.1. I assuming it’s because the usb-c cable I had only supports DP 1.3. The HDMI cable worked but not at 5120 x 1440.
