About this deal

Massive changes, especially to cult classics like the Logitech G502 and the Logitech G502 Lightspeed Wireless, never truly go down well with the fans, and we expect some resistance against Logitech G’s decision to pull the weight customization feature, opting for a more lightweight design. We redesigned the DPI-Shift button so you can choose the right configuration for your grip and style. The wired version here is the evident choice for the sensible and frugal among us, and the wire actually doesn't create a detriment to the usability. While there's no change to the already improved G502 Hero 25k sensor, there are some impressive ergonomic enhancements to note, along with customisability, and weight improvements to boot. Those hybrid optical-mechanical switches deliver the immediate response to presses optical switches are known for as well as that satisfying tactile feedback that only mechanical switches can deliver.

It’s customizable via the G Hub software and comes with an active play detection feature that dims the lights under the right side of your palm when in use to conserve battery power. Both the G502 X Plus and the G502 X Lightspeed are available in white or black, and the coated plastic is the same matte plastic used for the predecessor, which is great for heavy users as it won’t attract dust or fingerprints. This is helpful since each and every button on the device can be configured and bound to something different, from key combinations to device commands such as volume up and down or song skip. Despite this, the lighting is designed in such a way that your hand completely covers it when you're using the mouse, meaning that only a small sliver on the left-hand side is visible. The button is magnetic and can easily be removed, allowing you to orient the tail in the other direction to get it out of the way, or even replace it entirely with a flat panel designed to remove the thumb button. The Logitech G502 X Plus’ low-friction PTFE feet glide beautifully, even on the same leatherette pad that the Basilisk V3 Pro had a hard time with during its testing. For what it's worth, in my testing, I found that I was able to get around 36 hours of battery life with the RGB running constantly and the polling rate set to 1000. It's slightly skewed, similarly to those vertical mice that are all the rage at the moment in offices, which gives it superior ergonomics to the simple flat, front facing hand placement of the original design, without it taking an age to adjust.

Redesigned and reinvented with the most innovative gaming technologies, including our first-ever hybrid optical-mechanical LIGHTFORCE switches. The new ergonomics do have the potential to alienate those with larger hands or who don't enjoy the sideways slant, and the weight reduction has meant RGB likers like me would need to spend substantially more. The release of this new entry, launched alongside the new wired Logitech G502 X and the new Logitech G502 X Lightspeed Wireless, has been a long time coming. The G502 X does away with this completely, meaning one of the features that made Logitech’s best-selling mouse of all-time what it was, is completely absent. The side paddles are now bigger, although this is both a help (easier to press) and a hindrance (easier to press by accident), the mouse is also significantly lighter than its predecessor, coming in at just 106g for the G502 X Plus. That 106g weight coupled with its low-friction PTFE feet, which deliver effortless glide on most surfaces – but especially the best gaming mouse pads– and allows users an enjoyable gaming experience with less strain on their gaming arm and shoulder. Of course, that sensor is a little too fast for most people, but that just means it’s just as great for pros as it is for non-pro gamers who will appreciate those effortless movements. The infinite scroll is our Dave's most loved feature and I'm sure he would have written a strongly worded letter if Logitech had done away with his precious spinnies.
