We thought it was a fruit because it was in the fruit section at Wal-Mart. False advertisement. We had to look up Mexican potato to find out what it was. You have probably never heard of jicama before unless you are a big fan of Mexican cuisine. It is not a common vegetable, but worth a try nonetheless!
Go to any asian supermarket. Grandmart or Lotte Plaze in the DC area will have it. Veggies are cheaper there anyway.I've never heard of jicama until today when I saw it in a rachel ray programme here in the UK. Is it on sale here?
