About this deal

Cassidy, Jane (5 October 2020). "Three Scottish locations in list of 'Quidditch towns' given special status". The National . Retrieved 3 July 2021. In many ways, the Golden Snitch is a metaphor for Harry himself: the innocent young wizard who enjoyed flying and having fun became the "Chosen One" who was constantly sought out or chased (literally or figuratively) by everyone from the Daily Prophet to the Death Eaters, from the Ministry to Lord Voldemort. By the end of the story, the original Snitch from his first Quidditch match that brought him such joy became his way to cope with death, by resurrecting his family and friends who had already died to save him. Harry was just a pawn in a complex game started years before by Tom Riddle and Dumbledore, but just like the Golden Snitch, Harry was the only game piece which could bring the "match" to a close. As he says to himself while walking to his own death in the forest "The long game was ended, the Snitch had been caught, it was time to leave the air" ( DH34).

Immerse yourself in the Wizarding World and re-enact the famous game of Quidditch with your own Harry Potter Mystery Flying Snitch. The illusion of the flying Snitch will amaze family and friends. Quidditch matches are played over an oval-shaped pitch, with a scoring area at each end consisting of three hooped goal posts, each at a different height. Each team is made up of seven players, consisting of three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper and one Seeker. Golden Snitches had Flesh Memories and remembered the touch of the first person who handled them, in case of a disputed capture. Everyone, including the maker, had to wear gloves when handling the snitch until releasing one for each game. Because of this, a new snitch had to be used for each game. In Harry Potter's very first match, which was against Slytherin, he caught the Snitch in his mouth during the 1991–1992 school year. [3]A street in Lower Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, England is named Quidditch Lane, supposedly after a type of nearby dry ditch called a Quidditch. Fans have been known to visit the area. [19] A replacement for the Golden Snidget was sought, and the skilled metal-charmer Bowman Wright invented the Golden Snitch to replace it. The Snitch weighed exactly the same as a Snidget, and its rotational wings imitated the bird's, allowing it to change direction and speed like its living counterpart. [1] The Golden Snitch was originally not a ball, but a little magical bird called a Golden Snidget. It was introduced in 1269, when the Chief of the Wizards' Council, Barberus Bragge, unleashed a Golden Snidget during a Quidditch match, offering a reward of 150 Galleons to the player who caught the Snidget. Once you have the design figured out, I used the plastic from a gallon of milk as the final material. I traced the paper design onto the plastic then cut it out with an exacto knife. Matches are played on a large oval pitch with three ring-shaped goals of different heights on each side, between two opposing teams of seven players each: three Chasers, two Beaters, the Keeper, and the Seeker. The Chasers and the Keeper respectively score with and defend the goals against the Quaffle; the two Beaters bat the Bludgers away from their teammates and towards their opponents; and the Seeker locates and catches the Golden Snitch, whose capture simultaneously wins the Seeker's team 150 points and ends the game. The team with the most points at the end wins. WARNING: Choking Hazard. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age due to small parts. Not suitable for children under 8 years of age. Only use in domestic areas (house or garden). Adult supervision required. Slytherin Sweatshirt, Hogwarts Shirts, Wizarding World Sirt, Hogwarts House Sweatshirt, Magic World Shirt, Wizard School Shirt, HP Fan Gift However, our best bet for the Golden Snitch is advanced drone technology which can be assigned a random flight path at the beginning of every match and a proximity sensor to speed up when the Seeker tries to catch it. We hope the Golden Snitch, and by extension, the game of Quidditch will be a reality in the real world.A real-life version of the game has been created, in which the players use brooms, but run instead of flying.
