Allotment Garden Get your newly sharpened pruners and remove any dead or damaged parts from your shrubs. And grab this chance to shape up your evergreens, such as a boxwood!
Top tip: Watering slowly, deeply, and not so often creates a damp but not soggy soil that most plants/veggies love. Image Credit: Pexels 33. Keep on top of your garden You could ask a friend or neighbour to pop round and do some watering, or set up an automatic watering system that drip-feeds your plants from a tap or water butt. If neither of these is an option, move your potted plants to a shady spot, put trays under them, and fill with water on the day you leave. Give the whole garden a really good soak on this day as well. Remember to sort out summer plant care for your houseplants too – my holiday houseplant carepost has lots of tips for keeping them alive while you’re away. Get ready for guests
Right next to Hyde Park, Kensington Palace Gardens are another example of meticulous horticultural attention to detail. Designs: Many of our rectangular summerhouses feature an apex roof but we also offer decorative hipped roof styles and compact modern pent roof designs. Hexagonal and octagonal designs are also available. A corner summerhouse with 5 side walls fits neatly into a corner of the garden. Many designs include contemporary low level glazing to provide a bright and sunny vantage point with a panoramic view of the garden. Two room designs with an internal partition provide dual use, combining a summerhouse and a shed within the same building. There’s something for everyone at Lowther Castle – no longer, perhaps, a “hidden gem”, but an increasingly popular garden destination in Cumbria, which has triumphed over adversity to accomplish the most ambitious (and still ongoing) garden restoration in Europe. Incorporate interactive elements like a mini maze, stepping stones, or a balance beam to encourage physical activity and exploration. Plant colourful flowers, install bird feeders, or even create a butterfly garden to introduce children to the wonders of nature.
