About this deal

Remove the beaters, and add an additional 1-2 TBSP raspberry syrup. Using the spatula you greased earlier, stir the mixture 1-2 times to just barely incorporate the raspberry syrup, while leaving a swirled, streaky look.

Morrisons has some luxurious and eye-catching marbled Easter eggs this year in a range of flavours, perfect for the discerning adult in your life. It's also unveiled two cheese Easter eggs, for those who prefer something savoury. When the syrup reaches the correct temperature, remove the pan from the heat and remove the thermometer. Pour the dissolved gelatine into the syrup. Be careful as it will bubble and spit a little and rise to the top of the pan. Caution: it is extremely hot. To make the marshmallow, put the sugar, glucose and 200ml/7fl oz of water into a heavy-bottomed pan and stir. Bring the liquid to a gentle boil and continue cooking for about 15 minutes until the mixture reaches 127C/260F on a sugar thermometer. (CAUTION: boiling sugar is extremely hot. Handle very carefully. Use a deep pan to avoid bubbling over.) Orange juice: Orange marshmallows start with orange juice. You can use freshly squeezed or bottle OJ but I suggest using real orange juice not concentrate. You can even use blood oranges or tangerines when in season.Marshmallows can be frozen. They won’t freeze solid but it can prolong their life up to 4 months. Just let them thaw and come to room temperature and they’ll be perfectly soft again. Can marshmallows go bad? Asda is offering a range of fun and colourful chocolate eggs this year, as well some unorthodox hot cross bun flavours - including lemon and white chocolate buns to add a little zing to your Easter feast. Chocolate eggs These caramel marshmallows do not contain any eggs. Sometimes, egg whites are added to marshmallows which gives them a lighter, fluffier texture. Personally, there isn’t enough difference in texture for me to take the time to add egg whites if I’m just cutting it up into squares like these. Using a spoon, gently fold the raspberry coulis through the mallow mixture to create a rippled effect. Spoon half the mallow mixture into the dusted tin and place half the reserved raspberries on top. Spoon the remainder of the mallow mix over the top of the fresh raspberries, smoothing the top with a palette knife if neccessary, then scatter the remaining raspberries over the top.

So glad Sam mentioned that it looks all dark and liquidity at the start when you add it to the mixture. I looked at that and thought HOW is this going to turn into a light, fluffy marshmallow?! But several minutes later, magic happened! Marbled eggs are a big theme this year, with several supermarkets selling pretty swirled designs. Lidl's luxury options look suitably high end, though it also has plenty for kids, and some smaller (and cheaper) luxury egg designs too. Once you’ve finished whisking the marshmallow mixture, use a spoon to fold the raspberry coulis gently through the marshmallow mixture to create a rippled effect.

Some products or ranges aren't available yet. We've included dates where available, and will update this guide when new information comes in. Stand mixer speeds: I use a Kitchen-aid stand mixer which does have a very strong motor. Medium high on a kitchen-aid is about level 6 or 7. For other mixers, you may need to turn it all the way to the highest setting. Adding the flavour

Preheat the oven to 180 ̊C, gas mark 4. Grease 3 x 18cm round sandwich tins, then line the bases with baking parchment and lightly dust the sides with flour. Best luxury fruited hot cross buns - see how our consumer panel ranked supermarket rivals in a blind taste test

Ingredient

Once the sugar reaches 240 degrees F., turn the mixer on to low speed, and remove the pan from the heat. Carefully(!) pour the hot sugar mixture into the bowl with the gelatin, while mixing. If you're using a stand mixer, be sure to have the spatter-guard in place. If you're using a hand mixer, try to pour the syrup near one side of the bowl, while keeping the beaters on the other side of the bowl, so they don't fling hot syrup all over the place. A second set of hands can be a big help. Getting the sugar to hard ball: this is at 250 F and you’ll need a candy thermometer to confirm the temperature. An instant read thermometer can be used too. Spoon half the mallow mixture into the dusted tin and place half the reserved raspberries over the top. Spoon the remainder of the mallow mix over the top of the fresh raspberries, smoothing the top with a palette knife, if necessary. Scatter the remaining raspberries over the top.

A 9 inch square baking tin: I use a 9 inch but you can also use a 9×13 inch tin, however the marshmallows will be thinner.
