In Emoji Game, you can test your knowledge of emojis as you try to match them together! Everyone uses emojis when texting, and it's important to know which one to use for the best communication. Do you trust yourself to complete all the levels in this game? If no player is out of cards by the time the DRAW pile is depleted, the DISCARD pile is reshuffled and play continues. If you need a game to play remotely via Zoom, Skype, or your virtual platform of choice, then Name the Emoticon will be the perfect choice for you this holiday season. If they stop making the face before their next turn, they must draw 4 cards! You may NOT play an action card (Draw 2, Reverse, Skip, Wild or Wild Draw 4) with the Wild Emoji Card, only an emoji face card. If the last card played in a round is a Draw Two or Wild Draw Four card, the next player must draw the 2 or 4 cards respectively. These cards are counted when the points are totaled.
When you play this card, the direction of play reverses (if play is currently to the left, then play changes to the right, and vice versa). Each card shows a phrase, title, name, or something else that has been “written” using emojis. This card is also a wild card, so the color of the face card you play is the color that resumes play. If this card is turned up at the beginning of play, the person to the left of the dealer chooses the color that begins play.

I figured we’d play it for this one day and then it would go in the ‘emergencies only’ games cupboard (I currently have four games cupboards, ranging in title from ’our favourites’ to ‘emergencies only’) and that I’d be able to get out of buying him anything else for a while by saying ‘I bought you that awful game you wanted, remember?’. Whoever correctly guesses the answer on the card wins that card (assuming the group is playing competitively) and the player with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. Should the group be playing remotely over Zoom or similar, the dealer can simply keep a tally of winners. In others you should group correct emojis together, and sometimes you should find the correct half of an emoji to make it whole again. If, however, you make a mistake, you'll fail the level and have to start again. Your mistakes are shown in red. Boy was I wrong (not only in that my son remained unbowed by the ‘I already bought you something argument’ when he got to the Warhammer shop) but also in that the game would be designated emergencies only.
