Help removing the steps from checkout, make into one page fo

Hi all,

I am trying to remove the steps out of the one page checkout on magento, so the customer can fill it all in then press send rather than the current ‘next’ on each step. I am aware of the extension onepagecheckout but I would rather talk with someone who has done this as I am sure its possible,
